After three weeks of marching through the Winner Bracket a total of eight teams have made it into the prestigious Diamond Division - the highest league HonTour has to offer.
Familiar names like Trademark eSports, Gary Johnson and Pikachu have made it. After winning every single best of three for three weeks straight, eight teams, including DreamHack Winter participants Trademark eSports, Gary Johnson, Tt eSports and QsQ have already punched a ticket for the Diamond Division.
All eight teams have won their first six matches in the competition to get to this point, a safe spot for the first Diamond Division season. Now those eight teams will only have one goal left for the $10,000 USD qualifying tournament, take home the most money and points possible.
The next challenge for the first eight will start this Thursday, 9.30 PM CET when Vitriolic Gaming will meet Domain of Pain, Tt eSports and QsQ will face off in a DreamHack Winter Group B preview, Trademark eSports will square off with Pikachu and Gary Johnson will battle it out against Lions eSports.
The only top teams missing in the Diamond League so far is the number one ranked team compLexity eSports, who had to forfeit their first round matchup in the Winner Bracket due to a lack of ready players. They are still in contention for the top spots though, as they are only one victory away from the Diamond Division themselves. In that important match they will have to face the team Arena Online eSports with known players like EZephyr, Jagged_ and JuiceProduce - still coL will be the heavy favorite.
