Anyone who watched the first go-round of this game expected World Elite to have an excellent start to the regame and so it proved. The Chinese team took first blood, following it up quickly with another kill before Froggen’s Karthus ultimate put CLG on the board. The Europeans did manage to pick up the first dragon on the back of that kill, but were still out-farmed and down by 700 gold.

WE kept up the aggression, with top tower already down they dived bottom with four players. It paid off nicely, landing them two kills and a tower, but again they gave up the dragon and were only ahead by about 1,000 gold. CLG seemed to be hanging on by the skin of their teeth, and the first team fight in mid lane showed just how close the game was. A three-for-three trade maintained the parity, and neither team dared to engage for almost ten minutes. When they eventually did fight it was CLG who took the momentum, acing their opponents and picking up a baron. Suddenly, the game had a sense of inevitability.

Sure enough, CLG pushed their advantage even further, taking an inhibitor tower and extending their lead to 3.5k. WE were reeling, and when CLG picked up a second baron the writing was on the wall. World Elite were forced to fight at their top inhibitor tower, but CLG annihilated them and picked up several towers and inhibitors. From there, it was only a matter of time. One more team fight was enough to seal the deal after a mere five days, and CLG booked themselves a place in the semi-finals.
