The boycott is over: KeSPA and ESF reach OSL/GSL 4 agreement
The debacle that arose a few days ago when KeSPA announced that its players will not participate in GSL 4 has come to an end. As a result, OSL will continue as planned and, in addition, we will see the likes of Jaedong, Flash and Bisu in the GSL preliminaries.
We learned from a Korean Battle.net blog post that KeSPA has taken back the decision to keep its players away from GSL 4 - a move that, as we informed you, caused the ESF players to boycott the OSL by refusing the play in the Ro16. A day later, KeSPA partly reconsidered and confirmed attendance of GSL 5 but as "continuous participation" was never mentioned, the ESF boycott persisted.
Today, the two parties have reached the agreement and Ro16 of the OSL and the GSL 4 preliminaries will see both KeSPA and GSL players. The preliminaries for the next GSL have been pushed back to September 12th in order to accommodate KeSPA's players' schedule while OSL Ro16 will resume as planned on August 28th.
