The last tournament prior The International 2 has ended. 16 teams from all around the world took part in the $1000 competition and CLG was the team to take it all.
In the final game of Beyond The Summit World Tour CLG went up against iG. With the final score 2-1 CLG secured the title. The games were very action-packed and stood out from the rest of the tournament. For both of the teams, it was the first and last encounter in the play-offs with a representative from the other part of the world, as iG only played against Chinese teams and CLG only played against American teams.
During the first game iG showed their power in lane and map control. The ignored banning high-tier heroes, leaving alot of the heroes in the pool. With picks like Naga Siren, Shadow Fiend and Natures Prophet iG were strong in every phase of the game, but especially late game. CLG had to push early but couldn't oppose the force from iG and got picked off too easily.
In the second game we saw an amazing comeback of Pudge being played in the finals. We all remember ESWC '11 with Dendi's Pudge dominating on the whole map. This time it was Misery who reminded us about the potential of this hero on a high level. When the game score was 11-3, Misery had 11 kills all around the map and iG were forced to call good game shortly after with all tier 3 towers still standing.
In the third game iG decided to go with the flow of Zenith once again and didn't ban in a serious manner during the first banning phase. This decision left many strong heroes in the pool and promised the game to be very interesting. Pajkatt showed that Lycanthrope is not something teams would want to leave in the pool. IG had a better start with taking top and bottom towers almost at the same time. With a well executed split push and some good exchanges, CLG were able to turn things around. Pajkatt on Lycanthrope steadily became the most farmed hero on the map and after mistake by iG where they traded Roshan for raxes, CLG were able to do the final push to victory in the series and the tournament.
