DreamHon Group C: coL, FyKu and vtrl marching to 3-0
After the disappointing lack of games the last two days, Group C brought the DreamHon Summer Championship back on track and delivered all four scheduled matches. That, plus the postponed match of Dynasty against compLexity Gaming made this day of HoN filled with action.
Two teams are on top of Group C with a flawless 3-0 record, their only blunders in the map scores. Vitriolic and FackyouKurdi are the teams of the moment, as the established teams MuFC and Tt eSports slipped up early. Vitriolic could make another statement with a win against the Malaysian team MuFC. After three tough games Vitriolic received the "GG" from their opponents, putting them into the driver's seat for the group. They not only won all their matches, but they defeated Tt eSports and MuFC already, arguably the toughest tasks in the group.
FackyouKurdi had an easier road to their undefeated streak so far. With wins over QoP and Cats Gaming they still look strong, but MuFC, Vitriolic and Tt eSports are still in the queue for the exciting newcomers to the scene. Today they put the other Russian team, GA, away with a clear 2-0 victory. That win is not only giving them the momentum and the 3-0 record, but only elevates them up to the first spot in the group. The big match between first place and second place will happen next week when vtrl and FyKu square off to give a clear indication on who will move to the playoffs.
Behind those teams are the Australians, Malaysians and Russians waiting for a chance to get back into the mix. Tt eSports won their match today against the winless team Call it Karma, boosting the record to 2-1 after that opening lost against Vitriolic two weeks ago. The Australians are ready to pounce to one of the playoffs spots next week with the top spots taking on each other.
Out of the race for now are MuFC and Cats Gaming, who both lost their second match in a row. MuFC had to admit defeat after very tense matches against Vitriolic and Cats suffered a setback after losing 1-2 to the unknown team QoP. QoP on the other side are now suprisingly in the mix for the top spots with two straight wins and the same record as Tt eSports. Group C is still wide open, but next week will bring FyKu or vtrl closer to that coverted playoff ticket.
