Patrik Antonius has finally spoken about the Full Tilt debacle in an interview in Cannes, France with pokertube.com. Antonius was one of the most visible high stakes pros at Full Tilt Poker over the years, winning millions from the high stakes games and supposedly collecting millions in payments for his association with the site. Six months later he is sharing his first thoughts publicly.
Antonius is playing only his fifth tournament of the year in a greatly reduced schedule that included Aussie Millions, a two event WSOP, and a couple of events at WSOPE which is just down the road from his home in Monte Carlo.
Antonius clearly indicates that "Obviously I had nothing to do with the management."Antonius explains that he had a "marketing contract" with Full Tilt Poker, no ownership. If Full Tilt collapses, he will be one of the biggest losers as he had considerable money tied up on the site. He is frustrated and disappointed at how the Full Tilt scandal has done to the reputation of poker.I will take a big minus, even with what they paid me over the couple years."He indicated that he is one of the last to know anything regarding Full Tilt Poker and hasn't had inside conversations at all.
The Finn has been playing big live games more in Macau this year, which has been a pretty secretive game adding to the mystery of Antonius' results and public profile. The games they have their own rules. They can really make some good plays. They are capable of making some big bluffs and big calls. When they are down big, they don't play as well. Most sessions run 16 hours or more. He has played more over 20 hour sessions than he's ever played anywhere.
Antonius' final thoughts are...We are all going to pass one one day, all that matters is that we live a good life. There is too much people worrying and stress. I do way too much, but it's hard to stress when you are in Monaco or Cannes. That's why I like it here.Antonius also admitted he was in a good mood because he backs the Mizrachi brothers and Michael collected his second bracelet and a big payday that Antonius shared in.
