Hayder "HayprO" Hussein returns to the winning column after an over one and a half hour series against team-mate Dario "TLO" Wünsch. After a 54-minute long game on Shakuras Plateau with everything from zergling run bys to a split map ending in an air battle, the players went at it in similar fashion on Antiga Shipyard.

Viewers on the black stream could see "TLO" roast lots of "HayprO's" drones in the beginning of Antiga, and for a while it seemed like the German Terran was in a good position to even out the score. But "HayprO" could hold it with some roaches and zerglings to later squeeze out even more drones to get back in the economics race. And with more zergling run bys, roach snipes and mutalisk thrusts in to the Terran base, "HayprO" slowly but sure grinded his way back in to the game to transition into brood lords and corruptors for the killing blow after a good 34 minutes.

Pool A also saw first place holder "IdrA" defeat "Drewbie" on Xel'Naga Caverns and Shakuras Plateau. While game one showed proof of "IdrA's" great macro play with banelings transitioning into an infestor mutalisk play. "Drewbie" attempted to buldge "IdrA" with hellion harass in mid-game, but it was not enough against IdrA's great positional and surround play with zerglings and mutalisks. "The Gracken" could then finish the Canadian Terran off on Shakuras Plateau in a long series ending with ultralisks and infestors running over "Drewbie's" marine, tank, thor and medivac army.
