Holdem Manager, the immensely popular software amongst internet poker players that allows them to track hands and observe the tendencies of themselves and other players, is preparing to release its 2nd generation software shortly.

The software providers offered a select few players the ability to beta test its upcoming release. The testers noted significant interface changes, major bug fixes, minor software adjustments, and improved performance. Developers hope that this latest update provided to beta testers last week will mark the last major change prior to its launch, scheduled for mid-to-late Ocotber. “This should be the last major update to HM2 Beta for the initial functionality,” said HM2 rep fozzy71 on the TwoPlusTwo forums, “the focus will then be on resolving all non-critical bugs prior to public sale. We now expect the public sale to begin between 10/15 and 10/31.”

The latest version of Holdem Manager 2 featured a dark theme design that was reminiscent of the original Holdem Manager, although users will be able to change to the light theme if they so desire. Also publicized were large-scale interface changes and performance improvements. Despite the major changes, however, the Holdem Manager developers emphasized that the final release of the new software does not mean the program will stop development of the tracking program. “Yes there is more functionality to be added to HM2 even after it goes on sale,” said fozzy71. “Build-Your-Own-Stats, powerful new exception-based reporting in the HUD and a free version of HM Vision initially but the other big innovations are still under wraps.”
