ASUS Cup 2011 will be the LAN-tournament to end the competitive season of the year. The event will take place on the 17th and 18th of December.

Loyal followers of the competitive scene should be wondering about the missing news of an ASUS Cup that was supposed to take place at the end of November. Due to the Cybersport Arena in Kiev being booked up for other competitions until mid December, the date for the fourth ASUS event of 2011 has been moved back to the weekend after the Dota 2 Star Championship on the 17th and 18th of the month.

After having pushed the DotA prize-money to record-levels during Spring and Summer, winning teams of the upcoming competition will walk away with a lot less, as the 250,000 RUB prize from ASUS Summer has shrunk to "only" 125,000 RUB (converted €3,000). The previously executed invitation system, alongside local and online qualifiers (which partially funded the competition) also seem to have disappeared, as the list of maximum teams grew back from 16 to 32 with willing participants being able to register in a thread.

Update: Except Na`Vi, not much is known about any prominent teams joining the upcoming ASUS Cup. Sufficient time for suchlike announcements is still left however.
