A third of the total twelve players have already qualified for the groupstage. Two more each week, the latest two qualified last night.
Another thirty two players battled for the two spots in the second qualifier but of course only two could get those spots which will qualify them for the groupstage and to get a chance to win the $100 or at least a safe spot in the second season which will hold a total of $500 prizemoney.
This week the German Zerg player LRM)Bakuryu aka The Mustache Zerg and the Bulgarian Zerg player LRM)Technics managed to qualify, each of them winning 2-1 in their final match taking down LancerX and LRM)Pike.
After they beat their opponents we once again got a hold of them to ask them a couple of questions.
Bakuryu: Beside my round 1 game I played mostly against people I regularely play, so both knew how each other was playing and it's hard to stay confident when everyone knows my 4 hatch (frowns). I knew that if I played a good game I could win it.
TechnicS: I didn't look at the bracket at first, I was waiting for my 1st opponent and that was it. When it was w.o. I saw that I was playing against a finnish player and I thought it would be an easy win but he played very well and I had a hard time in the bo1. Then I saw the bracket and thought that exciting games were ahead. Never thought I would go through.
Bakuryu: LancerX was the hardest, we already played 8 games today where i won 7-1 on Aztec but he didn't play his characteristic 1 gate expo and each game was a hard fought game so im happy that i won.
TechnicS: LRM)Pike. He has extraordinary ZvZ!
Bakuryu: I think it's a great event, provides good games, nice coverage. I hope that will go on and i hope i can win it (laughs) ... I mean get far in the tournament (laughs again).
TechnicS: I am really excited to see new and new great events and that is definitely one of them. Even though I prefer not competing for the place in the tournament, maybe increase the cap to 64.
