Although there were no more foreigners left in Code A, the quarter finals did deliver some exciting moments as the final four began to take form.
Leenock vs Dream
Belshir Beach: Leenock used perfect muta control to loosen up the terran defences and when Dream's marines repositioned themselves in attempt to shoot down the fliers, Leenock stormed in with his ground army, killed the third and re-pushed minutes later for the kill.
Terminus: Similar fate befell Dream in the second set as he was tormented endlessly by Leenock's mutas and he could not successfully secure a third. He tried to add some thors to his army but when he eventually did it was by the 20th minute - way too late for them to count. With a final fungal, Leenock trampled Dream to advance to the Ro4.
Noblesse vs Tassadar
Terminus: Tassadar pressured Noblesse hard with +1 and later +2 armor pushes but due to relying too heavy on archons, the EMPs of Noblesse managed to win him some important battles in the mid-game. But as Tassadar made the tech switch into robo, his colossi had little trouble trampling the already wounded bio force and overwhelm the terran for a 1-0 lead.
Crevasse: Tassadar opened with 4-gate into expand and as he started punching Noblesse's front door, the terran had to pull a lot of SCVs to defend it, losing many of them as well. By the time he managed to break out, Tassadar already had his +2 armor on, a third nexus and a huge army of archon/chargelots that ploughed through the marauders similar to set 1.
Puzzle vs BanBans
Terminus: BanBans opened with quick blink but multiple micro mistakes led to him losing too many stalkers right from the start. Puzzle, on the other hand, enjoyed the comfortable position of the defender and all he had to to was stay put, continue to pump up stalker and finish his own blink to get an easy win.
Dual Sight: Once again BanBans was the aggressor, going for a 4-gate build but as despite successfully going up the ramp, he wasn't quick enough to warp in a round of units. As he could not regroup his units properly, the HoSeo player had to gg out.
Happy vs Asd
Dual Sight: Asd proxied his factory and starport north of Happy's base but those got immediately scouted by enemy hellions which even prevented the tech lab switch. Moments later, the Starport exploded under viking fire and, hugely behind in tech and with his timings completely off, it was a matter of minutes before Asd succumbed to Happy's superior macro.
Terminus: The 37-minute long mech vs bio battles ended as they usually do: the marauder force of Asd ran around Happy's tanks and cleaned his main of production facilities. Without any means to remacro back, Happy had to gg.
Crossfire: Happy continued to implement heavy mech composition in his play but this time he added heavy air support and used banshees and vikings to force several repositionings by asd. Soon, Happy was able to establish an unbreakable ring of tanks around asd's base and as he streamed more and more tanks, Happy squeezed hard for the kill.
