As Rain forfeited the fight for Code S, only three players remained in Group A. July met Trickster in the opening game to determine who fill face NesTea for the top spot in the pool.
Trickster vs July @ Belshir Beach
Trickster opened with a Stargate expand and after killing two Queens and some drones he followed it up with a 6-gate aggression. However, he would face a deadly resistance from July, who already had enough Hydras, Roaches and Lings to stall the protoss army. Later, a bad move-out from Trickster led to the destruction of his whole army and the game was July's
Trickster had way insufficient forces due to a failed push and he had to GG out
NesTea vs July @ Crevasse
NesTea's speedling expand opening brought him quick spoils of war as he managed to snipe two Queens before July's Roaches popped out. Following this play, NesTea put down a spire and double expanded while July kept upgrading his Roach army and now adding Infestors to the mix.
And suddenly what started as your everyday normal ZvZ turned into an inspiringly funny late-game madness where both players had Ultras, massive numbers of Infestors, Roaches and Spine Crawlers and the onslaughts that occurred were totally sick. The only thing that went wrong was July's overcommitment during one of his attacks where he charged straight into the massive Spine Crawler wall of NesTea only to lose his ultras and consecutively the game.
Believe it or not, this is an actual screenshot
Trickster vs July @ Metalopolis
Trickster played a way better game this time despite letting his initial blink army get eaten alive by speedlings. But Trickster kept his cool and after successfully repelling July's massive drop play, the ex-TSL protoss continued to macro up and actively upgrade his blink/storm army - a most efficient composition against July's mutalisks, banelings and hydras. After several pushes at July's third and denying times and times again the additional zerg bases, Trickster managed to pull off a victory.
At the time of this attack, Trickster already had +3/+1 for his Stalkers, way out-upgrading the God of War July
