British poker pro Sam Trickett is the chip leader of the final table of the Partouche Poker Tour Main Event that will be played down in November. Trickett has already had an impressive 2011 and recently received recognition at the British Poker Awards for being the Best Cash Players. He will have to waut until November for the play down of the Partouche final table and the potential €1,000,000 first-place prize.
Trickett navigated under the radar for much of the tournament, hovering near the bottom of the field during Day 4 only to rocket to the lead in Day 5 that established the final nine players for the delayed and televised final table.
Trickett was the last remaining notable pro to make the final table, as all the others in contention dropped on Day 5 as the field was whittled down from 18 to 9 players.
Notables dropping out on Day 5 included Finnish pro Juha Helppi (15th - €45,000), 2011 WPT Legends of Poker Champ Will “The Thrill” Failla (14th - €45,000) and French pro Ludovic Lacay (11th - €70,000).
Trickett will be joined at the final table by 2011 WSOP bracelet winner Oleksii Kovalchuk and veteran Danish pro Mads Wissing.
