Team PokerStars announced its latest addition to their Team Online pros in online poker tournament pro Mickey "Mement_Mori" Petersen. Only a few days after releasing several notable older American-based pros, Dennis Phillips, Tom McEvoy, and Bill Chen, Team Online added the prolific and successful Dane Petersen. The shift to a younger and more international based team continues in the wake of Black Friday.

Petersen announced his addition on the newly formed PokerStars WCOOP Radio show.“I see signing with world’s biggest online site as the next logical step in my career and hopefully I’ll be able to build on my resume live as well as online and promote both PokerStars and the game in a positive light."The timing of the announcement was fortuitous as well because Petersen was fresh off final tabling Event #29 in the current World Championship Of Online Poker series going on in September.

For those unfamiliar with Petersen's online accomplishments:
  • He has over $4 million in career online tournament winnings to go with over $250k in live tournament earnings.
  • He had 16 cashes in the 2010 SCOOP tournament series where he won over $300k during the 2010 SCOOP series.
  • His biggest online tournament win was for a runner-up finish in a 2010 SCOOP $2k NLHE tournament, taking home $160,000.
  • He also finished third in a Sunday Warm-Up.

Petersen is also a former Magic: The Gathering player.

He joins Randy Lew, Dale Philip, Shane Schleger, Anders Berg, Andrew Brokos, Tyler Frost, Adrienne Rowsome, Grayson Physioc, and Kevin Thurman on Team PokerStars Online.
