Socke vs. Adelscott
Players' GosuCup results
Socke Adelscott
2-0 vs Spades
2-0 vs Runa2-0 vs TriMaster (W.O.)
1-2 vs Nerchio
2-1 vs TriMaster
If there is a matchup you can never predict based on statistics it’s PvP. And GosuCup’s Ro8 is putting Europe’s finest Protoss players against each other in a time where their latest statistics is not making my preview job easier.
Both players come with into this with unconvincing recent PvP stats, with Adel being 3-7 and Socke just a little bit better, 4-6. There is a slight possibility that Socke might have the upper hand here, considering his wins have been against tougher opponents and that he had already defeated Adel once at the HomeStory 3 but once again – this is PvP guys, everything there is one micro mistake away from total defeat.
BlinG vs. Nerchio
Players' GosuCup results
BlinG Nerchio
2-0 vs Spades2-0 vs Merz
2-1 vs Adelscott
Probably not many of you have heard that much about BlinG as he has always stood in the shadow of his more accomplished teammates like SeleCT, Sjow and, when it come to the protoss race, Naniwa. BlinG reached the Ro8 via a last chance qualifier with a WO over RunA so his previous GosuCup history might not look impressive enough to grant him the label of a favorite, especially against opponent such as Nerhio.
The Polish zerg himself has been on fire, including the ZvP match-up. His 66% win rate against protoss includes victories over names of the magnitude of White-Ra, HuK and Naniwa. Nerchio comes as a silver medalist from IPL 2 where he fought his way back from all the losers bracket, defeating heavy tournament favorites, including Kiwi, Minigun and Mana. His previous encounters with BlinG are also in Nerchio’s favor, including a 3-0 slaughter at TTe’s anniversary. The young Zerg is definitely making a name of himself and enters the match as the heavy favorite.
Kas vs. DarkCell
Players' GosuCup results
Kas DarkCell
2-1 vs LastShadow
0-2 vs Grubby
2-0 vs RSVP (W.O.)2-0 vs Mover
2-1 vs Major
The final quarter final match also bears a note of one-sidedness. If history has taught us anything it’s that Kas is a monster at online events. The Ukrainian is considered by many the best terran in Europe and, furthermore, his recent TvZ record has taken the stunning form of 9-1 in the last 10 games with a 7 set win streak, which even Nerchio could not stop at GameCreds Cup last week.
And on the other side of the medal stand DarkCell who, despite not having the best ZvT record in the world, has won numerous victories against Terrans during the run of GosuCup, including a 2-1 against Major in Group A’s winners final. So, suddenly, this quarter final is looking not at all a walk in the park for Kas and the terran will have to be on the look as DarkCell has proven that he can beat heavy favourites. After all, you don’t make it to the Ro8 by not showing your best.

2-0 vs Kas2-1 vs Beasty
