Two exceptional matches took place on this portion of the TeamLiquid Star League this year between Dignitas.NaNiwa and ESC.GoOdy as well as mymMondragon and coL.CrunCher. Two more players advance to the Ro8.
Dignitas.NaNiwa and ESC.Goody had a great series against each other. GoOdy pulled a good, strong defensive mech win against NaNi for game one, games two and three NaNi found a way around that with his standard build style favoring Colossi and gateway units. With those crushing GoOdy's forces. Game four was a quick win after downing a huge army with a really quick push into GoOdy, it pushes NaNi into a swift win against GoOdy, putting him into the Ro8.

A highly anticipated set where a veteran RTS player and fan favorite, Mondragon comes back to the Starcraft scene. His opponent, being CrunCher. And unfortunately for those who were putting bets on Mondi, CrunCher did just as his name states. Game one went more as planned, with some early Void Ray harassment, Mondragon pushed out a more uncommon counter, Roaches. Not directly facing the Void Rays, but instead using his Roaches to counter the void rays harassment. This proved successful, especially after his Hydralisk Den and Spire were up, where he then pushed Corruptors and Hydralisks into the base after a long time of burrowing Roaches around for harassment. The next game proved a little strange, with CrunCher just generally outdoing Mondragon on all fronts. The final engagement just did not go well because of great placement of force fields, he came short against CrunCher in army, but ahead in economy was not enough. The third match was decided quickly with a cannon rush from CrunCher at the natural expansion. The fourth match was a huge toss up of units until the end where Mondragon really had nothing else to do.
