Ilari ‘Ziigmund’ Sahamies suffered a tough year in 2010 losing over $2 million at the virtual tables. He switched his playing to PokerStars choosing to play lower at $25/$50 PLO instead of the higher limits he was accustomed to on Full Tilt. That has still has not reversed his extended downswing.
Sahamies plays as "Ilari FIN" on PokerStars and has been losing so far this year. In a recent match against Viktor "Isildur1" Blom he lost another $110k. Blom built an early lead in the three tabling HU match and soon they were quite deep stacked. The pots progressively got bigger and the play seemed to increase in pace as well. Both suited Blom in the end as he collected $106,882 in 745 hand.
The losses from that match brought Sahamies' losses in 2011 to over $500k, which represents a 100 buy-in downswing so far this year on top of his 2010 losses. Fortunately, Sahamies is playing at lower levels than before, but must still be quite frustrated and questioning his play and run of luck over the last year and a half.
