A 29-year-old poker pro who recently relocated from Oregon to Las Vegas won his very first WSOP event Sunday, the $1,500 Limit Hold'em event. It was Wilder's first WSOP cash and a good one it was for $205,065.
Previously a professional student with lots of debt, Wilder's parents moved down to Las Vegas with him just three weeks ago because there is no live poker in Oregon. He had previously been wracking up years of debt for an extended attempt to earn college degrees.Wilder commented "Feels pretty good. My friends are going to be nuts, cause I am already so cocky. I’m just going to wave it their face all the time."The most experienced player, Scott Clements, who owns two WSOP bracelets already was touted to win the event, but settled for ninth and becoming the first player to cash twice in the 2011 World Series of Poker.
