At the end of March, the Smithsonian Art Museum launched a vote campaign to determine which games would be featured in the first ever "Art of Video Games" exhibition. Due to fans' support, three Blizzard titles, including StarCraft and WoW, were chosen to be displayed on the museum's grounds.
The highly successful Blizzard RTS StarCraft: BroodWar is one of the winners of the Smithsonian Art Museum vote campaign, topping the Combat/Strategy category of "Era 4: Transition." The legendary game is joined by another hallmark title of Blizzard - Diablo 2, which was nominated in the Target category and won a place in the same Era.
A third game by Blizzard will also be featured at the "Art of Video Exhibition." Although not part of the public vote, World of Warcraft will be playable (for a limited duration) for every person visiting the museum.
StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty, although among the nominated in "Era 5: Next Generation," did not collect enough votes and thus will not be featured.
The exhibition will be displayed from March 16th, 2012 through September 30th, 2012. The full list of the games to be exhibited can be found here.
