Resembling a hybrid of various superheroes and one-armed robotic characters, Flux marks a new first for Heroes of Newerth: a ranged Strength hero.

Release: Blue version is an AoE magic damage nuke with a 400 radius maximum that slows enemies' movement speed based on how close they are to the center. Pink version slows enemies based on how far they are from the center.

Magnetic Surge: Blue version pulls target enemy up to 350 units towards Flux and deals bonus damage based on Strength. Pink version pushes instead of pulls.

Polarity Swap: Passively gives bonus attack range, giving Flux a maximum of 550 range. When activated, toggles Polarity between blue and pink. Also, increases casting range of Magnetic Surge by up to 200.

Discharge: Blue version globally pulls all enemy heroes up to 700 units towards Flux. Pink version pushes instead of pulls.
This week's new addition was previewed in a Hero Spotlight video on IGN.com. A great initiator in conjunction with other AoE ultimates, Flux's huge amount of positional control certainly makes him a powerful hero. Compared to the current popular Strength initiators like Magmus and Behemoth, Flux lacks any stuns and seems to have less overall damage potential. But he does have a scaling single-target ability, and having a ranged attack instead of melee makes him stronger in the lane.

His ultimate alone gives him great synergy with heroes that have powerful AoE abilities, e.g. Bubbles, Soulstealer, Torturer, Tempest - the list goes on. Flux is quite a unique hero, and it will be interesting to see how he's used within different types of line-ups.
