Results from today's matches can be found at the bottom of this article.

12:46 - That's all for today, tomorrow we'll have the Code-A, group A, round of 32 matches with TankBoy, junwi, cOre, BanBans. Later followed by some S-class action with FruitDealer, MVP, Zenio, and jukto.

12:46 - The command center in the air, TheBest is moving into the main, and GG from Polt. TheBest moves on to the round of 16, while Polt joins Maka in the up-and-down matches against the top A-class players for a spot in the S-class tournament next season.

12:45 - Polt is now pushing out with his entire army, but the army is now non-existent, he lost everything to the sieged tanks of TheBest, and times are dark for Polt right now. TheBest is counterattacking now, and will probably win the game right here.

12:44 - Well, Polt has a lot less SCVs, but the supply count is about equal, which means Polt has a stronger army at the moment, but he will have to use that advantage before TheBest pulls ahead too much with his much higher SCV count and stronger economy.

TheBest is the one moving out, setting up a contain, but backs up.

12:43 - TheBest makes a very sloppy attack, and Polt manages to get back in the game as he cleans it up without losing much himself. Good for the game and Polt, bad for TheBest. It's now more even, with neither of the players in any big lead from what I can tell.

12:41 - TheBest holds it off without any problems, and is now looking to regain a contain. Polt has his expansion up now as well, though the supply count is very low for Polt, and TheBest should be able to row this in his favor.

12:39 - Polt decided to move out for real, and cleaned up the contain. He lost a lot of units though, and TheBest has his expansion up and running, Polt is looking to counterattack, but tanks sieged up prevents him from moving in completely.

12:37 - TheBest is now expanding while he's keeping the contain safe from any high-ground tanks, Polt must make something happen soon before TheBest gets his expansion up and running.

Polt is now dropping his units outside his base, nice placement, sieging up outside his base getting one tank. Nailbiting positioning here.

12:36 - TheBest is now pushing out, Raven, banshee, viking, marines, and tanks. Polt is contained now, the banshee for TheBest manages to snipe a siege tank.

12:34 - Polt is now counterattacking, sieging up outside the main of TheBest, who does not have siege mode himself yet, moving out trying to break the contain, and he does.

12:32 - TheBest will try to do some early pressure with a hellion and a few marines, kills all of the marines of Polt, and another hellion has arrived. Gets a couple of SCVs and gets to scout the entire base of Polt to find a starport before it gets killed by the tank.

12:29 - TheBest vs Polt - Metalopolis - Game 5

Close positions on Metalopolis between the red Terran, Polt, in the top middle position, and TheBest as the blue Terran on the left-side position.

12:27 - As a result of how the matches have turned out, we only have one match remaining as NesTea is already through.

The deciding match of who takes the second place in the group and a spot in the round of 16 is between Polt and TheBest.

12:13 - GG from TheBest as Polt moved out and TheBest didn't stand a chance after the earlier big loss. Polt wins.

12:13 - The Raven is moving out with the rest of the troops, the banshee is freely harassing in the main until a viking arrives.

TheBest is now in the main base, but SCVs, tanks, and marines are there for the rescue, and TheBest loses the majority of his troops, and the banshee had around 20 kills, and there's not a lot of SCVs left for TheBest, who is now way behind in this game.

12:12 - TheBest is being very smart, suspecting that Polt is going for cloaked banshees, which he is, and TheBest now has his Raven out, and won't need to waste energy on scans.

TheBest is now getting marines and tanks, and a medivac. The banshee is moving out now.

12:11 - The players are playing very identical, both going for double-gas and factory. A banshee opening is very likely for both players. Tech lab being added to the factory, and a starport is being finished for both players as well.

12:08 - Polt vs TheBest - Xel'Naga Caverns - Game 4

So we're in the fourth match of today, we have TheBestfOu in the top right position of Xel'Naga Caverns as the blue Terran, and PoltPrime in the bottom left as the red Terran.

12:03 - We're back from the break, we have three more games to watch as we're halfway there. Next up is TheBest vs Polt, TvT.

11:56 - Maka has about one chance left to prove himself.

11:53 - More ultralisks march into the ruins of the terran base, and Maka GGs. Not a good start for the Terran who used to be one of the absolutely best players during the beta.

11:51 - The ultralisks are now cleaning up everything, we can hear a constant swipe from their attacking, killing the main of Maka now, and Maka is looking to lose his second game of the day.

11:49 - NesTea now pushing, and there's so many banelings just rolling into the main of Maka. Maka holds off the first wave, but NesTea is now free to just keep on sending units, and now has ultralisks.

11:47 - Maka is really suffering from all the mutalisks, NesTea takes down turrets all over the place, and even kills a command center at the second base. No more minerals there, but he won't be able to drop down as many mules, and will not get any gas from that base anymore.

Maka has his golden expansion done now though, and thors are popping out. Still a lot of mutalisks and banelings out though. Both players are maxed.

11:45 - NesTea is putting on the pressure with a lot of mutalisks, kills turrets here and there, while Maka has all his marines gathered together.

Around 25 mutalisks are out now.

11:42 - NesTea has just finished his golden expansion, while Maka is still flying his command center around, being unable to land at first as the mutalisks forced the marines to get there first.

Maka is taking the normal expansion instead of the gold, for some weird reason. Will give him an advantage in the very late game, but will he be able to get to that stage?

NesTea pushing out now, kills a thor, but lost a few mutalisks and a lot of zerglings. He did get a lot of siege tanks though.

11:41 - Maka is still using his medivac filled with marines to put on constant pressure on NesTea. But Mutalisks are out now, and will be able to stop the medivac.

11:38 - Maka, with his medivac flying around, knows everything that's going on for NesTea, finding lots of roaches and banelings.

Soon thereafter, NesTea tries to go for the kill, but he does not seem to get the best of that, and Maka is looking to take the lead in this game.

11:36 - Lair is being made for NesTea, while Maka has his expansion up now. NesTea has his banelings nest done. Siege mode is being researched for Maka. Nothing out of the ordinary going on.

11:34 - NesTea is now putting down his expansion, Maka is running around the map, trying to put on some pressure, but wisely pulls back his infantry as there are a few zerglings on the map.

NesTea is dealing some damage to the rocks blocking the second entrance to Maka's main, micros the zerrglings so they don't die.

11:33 - Maka is making a Maka-rax, hiding the second barracks not too far away from his base. NesTea has not made an expansion, and went for a spawning pool first.

11:31 - NesTea vs Maka - Blistering Sands - Game 3

It's Blistering Sands again, NesTea in the top position as the red Zerg, Maka in the bottom position as the blue Terran. Will Maka be able to do better than Polt on this map, or will he fall to the feet of the season 2 champion as well, like so many other players?

11:30 - It's NesTea vs Maka, quite exciting as these players had a very close set of games in the round of 16 in season 3, where NesTea came out on top winning 2-1.

11:25 - We're back from the break, finally. Not a bad break though, we got to see some interviews with today's players, and another reportage. Good entertainment while we waited for the next matches.

11:17 - The results from the first round will give us these matches after the break;

Code S - Round of 32
Day 1 - January 2nd, 10:00 CET

IMNesTeaVs.
MakaPrime

PoltPrimeVs.
TheBestfOu

11:10 - We're now going into a 14 minutes break.

Some interesting facts from Tasteless-the-wise; don't microwave your tea-water! Plants die!

11:06 - TheBest loses another banshee, and he's now doing an all-in push. TheBest has four tanks out, which is really what makes the difference in this battle, will Maka hold this? looking bad at the moment as he's losing his command center, Maka is waiting for the stim research to finish before he engages, but TheBest has taken a very good position now.

Maka engages, but is not able to do what is necessary, and TheBest wins after Maka GGs.

11:05 - The banshee goes down, being of no threat at all, and Maka is in the lead now with his expansion up.

11:04 - Maka manages to hold off the pressure, but loses a lot of marines, and the remaining rines have taken a lot of damage, and are on low health.

TheBest now has a banshee out, and cloak is nearly finished. Maka has finally been able to move his command center.

11:01 - Maka is getting three barracks and a command center, while TheBest is looking to tech more, now sending out a hellion along with five marines, Maka does not have much of defense.

10:59 - Maka vs TheBest - Metalopolis - Game 2

Maka spawns at the bottom middle position of Metalopolis as the red Terran, while we have TheBest on the right-side position as the blue Terran.

10:54 - Maka vs TheBest is coming up, Terran vs Terran. The winner of that game will then face Polt, loser of the first, and the loser of this match will face the winner of the first, NesTea.

Now, MOAR coffee!

***

Maka could need some coffee as well;

10:52 - NesTea got too far ahead, and Polt continuing to do stim-blunders, would eventually have to see TOO MANY banelings rolling into his base, and GG from the Terran.

10:50 - NesTea barely manages to clean up the contain, using a lot of banelings, and the mutalisks could clean up the rest. Now, back rocks are down for Polt, and NesTea is freely to move into the main of Polt, but backs up when the terran army arrives.

Harassing the newly made golden expansion for Polt as well, catches a marine army off-guard, and NesTea is getting a big lead in this game.

10:49 - Banelings are rolling around, looking for a window to catch the marines off-guard, but the tanks on the cliff is doing a good job, not letting the banelings getting anywhere near the infantry.

10:46 - NesTea is getting his third base up at the golden expansion, and is now sending out his mutalisks, hoping to force out some bad stims off of Polt. He's still working on breaking the rocks, banelings are out on the map, and Polt is moving out.

Polt has double engineering bay, meaning he will commit a lot to his upgrades, but will give him a slight disadvantage at this stage of the game, but Polt doesn't mind, and is now attacking the golden expansion.

10:45 - NesTea is keeping up some pressure with his zerglings, hitting the rocks by the second entrance in Polt's base, microes the lings back to not let any of them day.

Other than that, this game is pretty much on hold, both players macroing up. Banelings nest and spire is up for NesTea.

10:42 - The bunker harassment failed, but he didn't really commit a lot to it, as Polt is now making a fast expansion.

10:39 - NesTea vs Polt - Blistering Sands - Game 1

The game has started, NesTea in the bottom position as the red Zerg, and Polt as the blue Terran in the top position of Blistering Sands.

NesTea is going for a hatchery first, Polt is sending out a couple of SCVs.

10:37 - There's nothing like this, watching StarCraft 2 in the morning with a steaming cup of coffee. Now, we just found out, the first game will be on Blistering Sands between NesTea and Polt.

10:32 - We are now presented to the players who are playing today, first up is NesTea, season 2 champion Zerg. He will play against Polt, who is also ready in his booth.

Maka is up next, who will be playing TheBest from team fOu.

The booths have changed quite a bit, looks pretty neat. I'll try to get a print screen for you guys if I get the chance again.

Update; here's the booth;
