It's definitely been a while. After the mass disappointment of the postponing of Team Match Making's release when HoN 2.0 came out, the staff at S2 Games were working at full force, with developer Idejder even admitting that they had to shift majority of the work force on it. Finally, it is done.

In a forum announcement post, [S2] Fielding finally made it clear that this version of Match Making is here to stay.

“We'd like to thank everyone who helped us test our Matchmaking system. After many long hours, we are pleased to say that it is ready to go live on a more permanent basis.

We have no plans to take matchmaking down again for a while, but we will continue to monitor it and tweak to perfection, while always trying to improve the quality and fairness of matches while maintaining low queue times.

From all of us at S2 - enjoy the holidays, and play lots of matchmaking! ”
For a long time, a common phenomenon which has plagued games of the genre was the difficulty to set up a scrim. More often than not in a custom NO AB (Auto-balanced), one would face the problem of dodgers, resulting in games taking forever to start. Another difficulty was correctly finding opponents who were of suitable calibre to at least put up a good fight. At last, it seems like Team Match Making is for now, the solution.

One of the concerns expressed by few at the forums lately were unfair match-ups done by the system resulting in newbies facing up against seasoned pros. However, as matches play out and everybody gets a more accurate MMR (Match Making Rating), the problem should automatically disappear.

To add incentive to winning in Team Match Making, winning a game along with in-game kill streaks such as Immortals and team Genocides reward goblin coins which players can use to purchase cosmetic upgrades to their accounts from the new goblin store, be it from alternate hero skins to a nation's flag to proudly wear before your clan and gaming tag.

To round off this amazing news, Merry Christmas to all, and enjoy Match Making!
