BratOK leaves Kas with empty pockets, stealing away the price of 100 euros and a spot at the Sennheiser Cup Finals.
Last Saturday, in a very close best of five series, the Russian titan BratOK took down the Ukrainian hope Kas 3 to 2. Games grew exponentially in interest starting with game one, a quick and clean sweep with Kas hoping to break a contain and running into siege line fire only to find his doom. Game two featured Kas and his amazing macro, outperforming BratOK and even running into siege line twice coming on top at the end. In game 3, we saw both players do identical mistakes, running into each other, firstly BratOK being slaughtered by a faster tank siege of Kas and later on the opposite. BratOK took the game by a sweep, in the end, elevating tanks and marines and parking on top of the production facilities of Kas.
Game 4 was so far the best in my opinion, showing Kas with a macro dominance over a confused BratOK unable to deal with the large numbers of Kas’es army. At the final battle, the supply difference was more than seventy in favor of Kas, crushing with army of siege tanks and marines. Game5 was the most anti-climactic finish of series ever, showing us why pure marine plus medivacs cannot beat marine and siege tank plus medivac. By the time BratOK pushed on the Xel Naga Caverns, Kas did not have a single tank, let alone siege mode. A slow push with carefully sieged tanks killed him.
The win at the weekly Sennheiser tournament secures BratOK a place amongst the four other qualified players to compete at the finals with a prizepool of 3400 euros. So far BratOK’s competition consists of Dimaga, White-RA, Vortix and Syz. With 5 players qualified already the spots left are exactly eleven. In consecutive series every Saturday the spots will be filled and once complete the finalists will travel to Gamescom convention at Cologne. Except for the travel costs covered, players will enjoy free accommodation as well, turning this Sennheiser cup into a pleasant and profitable experience.
