MyrmidonAlthough Moraxus just came out not too long ago, S2 Games comes up with a quick follow-up with a new Legion INT hero, Myrmidon, a hero whose skillset suggests that it will make a good INT carry. The hero seems to synergize very well with magic heavy line-ups but will face massive problems against barrier idols and shrunken heads.

Background Story
“A denizen of Newerth's uncharted depths, Myrmidon has arisen to check the Hellbourne advance before it reaches his beloved seas. Like the ocean whose form he can take on, Myrmidon is powerful, fickle, and at times even cruel. With his ability to transform into a monster of terrifying strength and power, some question where his loyalties truly lie, but his might is certainly a welcome aid to the Legion in the war against the daemons.”

1st Skill
Weed Field
Myrmidon calls forth a line of seaweed from the ground in a line in target direction to bind his enemies after a short delay. Bound units are stunned and take magic damage over time.
Mass disable is always good. Looks like it would work incredibly well with heroes like Chipper and Bombardier.

2nd Skill
Magic Carp
Myrmidon sends his fish friend after target enemy unit. The magical carp will follow the target until it hits, dealing magic damage to and stunning the target if it is moving at the time of impact.
Projectile speed seems slow so the stun should be dodge-able for those with quick reactions and it is useless against cancelling channeling spells. However forcing the enemy to not move for one second should serve some purpose as well such as assisting an ally Pyromancer or Torturer hit his stun.

3rd Skill
Wave Form
Myrmidon manifests the sea's rage, turning into water and crashing to target location. Enemies he passes through are slowed and have their magic armor reduced.
A skill that resembles the first skill of Morphling, which might cause one to argue that this hero might be somewhat of a merger semi-port. It differs in that it has a mass slow and magic armour reduction, which again makes Myrmidon ever so powerful in magic line-ups.

Ultimate

Forced Evolution
Myrmidon transforms himself, exchanging his ranged attack for more durability and power. In his transformed state, Myrmidon attacks at melee range, dealing magic damage to and slowing the target with each hit.

Looks like an incredibly powerful ultimate. Given the Harkon's Blade's modifier AND a slow would almost definitely make up for the lack of range. However, it might work against Myrmidon as unlike a Harkon's Blade, which will essentially render yourself useless should your opponents get Barrier Idols and Shrunken Heads. We'll see how it works when it's officially released with official numbers and mechanics as there is too much mere speculation involved here.

Coming to a Newerth near you on Friday, Dec. 3rd 2010.
