Team ICE vs Dotally Rad in the Cyberathlete Amateur League Finals
DRD vs ICE in the Cyberathlete Amateur League Grand Finals
The Cyberathlete Amateur League Grand Finals are upon us, and Dotally Rad is facing off against Team ICE. An all-expenses paid trip to Dreamhack is on the line. What team's going to come to Sweden and show their skills in an offline tournament?
Game 1: Match ID 17987420
We see Tundra banned, as is Wretched Hag, apart from that, nothing out of the ordinary. ICE's carries will be JoshP on Soulstealer, with TeHGosu_ and Ensoe on Devourer and Pebbles to keep early/mid-game strong. JAH´ and swindlemelonzz support as Andromeda and Slither. DRD has jcp`LORD carrying on Flint Beastwood. KingRaven plays MAgmus, awwwyea on Bubbles, and ROBERTxLEE and WaRDeN supports as Witch Slayer and Glacius.
Early game has some lane switches back and forth, for a while we have Andromeda/Soulstealer vs Flint/Glacius in mid. Bubbles is getting the farm and level advantage, gettign some early kills, and only getting shut down from a combined Slither/Pebbles ambush.
The game, after being a bit slow early on, kicks into overdrive around the 11-minute mark at the top lane, with people teleporting in left and right, killing more and more heroes. The hero kill score goes from 6-3 to 10-6, with some beautiful stuns and teamwork extending ICE's lead.
Devourer is dominating the game, landing good hooks and getting good gank results. At the 20 minute mark ICE takes down the last of DRD's three outer towers, extending their lead further. Shortly aftwards another team-fight breaks out in the top lane, and ICE dominates it completely, killing four heroes and not losing a single one.
DRD doesn't really come back from there on, and with Devourer landing 9 out of 10 hoooks perfectly, and Soulstealer getting more and more farm, they have no choice but to concede.
Game 2: Match ID 17991832
Devourer gets banned this game, understandably. So is Tundra and Soulstealer. awwwyea picks up Pebbles, WaC carries as Corrupted disciple, with jCp`Lord going Pestilence, and Warden and ROBERTxLEE supporting as Andromeda and Glacius. ICE has JoshP carrying as Forsaken Archer, TeHGosu: on Chipper, Ensoe on Defiler, JAH` as Witch Slayer and swindlemelonzz on Pharaoh.
Chipper and Pharaoh are going bot against Pebbles. Corrupted Disciple vs Defiler mid, and Glacisu/Andro/Pestilence top against Witch Slayer/Forsaken Archer.
The bloodlust kill comes in the top lane at 3:40, with the trilane opening on up a Witch Slayer who's caught out of position. The trilane is having a strong game early on, Pestilence picking up 3 kills with assistance of Andromeda's stun and Glacius's freeze and slow. Corrputed Disciple has had a strong advantage mid, out-lasthitting and denying Defiler. He's sitting at 52/20 and the 10 minute mark.
Shortly after, action goes down in the top lane, as Pestilence runs into Witch Slayer and Defiler, gets caught and killed, but Glacius and Andromeda takes out Defiler in quick response. Pharaoh comes in to help out his Hellbourne friends, but in comes a Corrupted Disciple with a haste rune who aboslutely cleans house, taking otu Pharaoh and Forsaken Archer, then runs away from Chipper who teleported in - dodging the ultimate and his rockets, then turning around to kill the little chiprel with the assistance of Glacius. WaC is proving that Corrupted Disciple is still a great hero that shouldn't be overlooked.
DRD has the advantage early on, but ICE is fighting back hard, and at a few times they miss out on initiating when they have the chance, and let ICE dictate when and how to teamfight. The game is evend out at 12-11 at the 18-minute mark. DRD tries to intiate on Defiler about 40 seconds later, and almost gets the kill, but ICE has some incredibly reaction speed, and stops Pestilence before the stun, Pharaoh ultis in and Mummy Walls, and Defiler manages to get away - ICE walks out with two kill and zero deaths.
The same thing happens over and over, DRD tries to intiate, ICE counters, or they get initiated on, and ICE picks off 2-3 heroes every fight, steadily increasing their lead. JoshP on the Forsaken Archer is sitting on 10-4 kills at the 26-minute mark.
Every time DRD tries to pick someone off, Pharaoh jumps in with his ultimate and the rest of the ICE team follows, and DRD falls like wheat to the scythe. At the 32 minute mark, the score is 32-17 in ICE's favor with a 16k gold and experience lead. It's pretty much over at this point. A Kongor kill just hurries up the inevitable, and DRD concedes.
Congrats to Team ICE and good luck at Dreamhack!
