Pre-hand favorites KD-Gaming kept their cool and won the very first Heroes of Newerth tournament in DreamHack history. This after a 2-1 victory over FnaticMSI in the final.
The even-steven teams KD-Gaming and FnaticMSI clashed in a best-of-three match in which the black and orange colored team took the first game. KD-Gaming managed to come back in the later hours taking the scecond game in a very close game.
With the third game making way at 02:30, it proved KD had the most stamina as they came out on top of the third game to be crowned champions of DreamHack Summer 2010.
Swedish team Druidz with well-known DotA stars Akke and Loda fell in the semi final against FnaticMSI by a 1-2 score, but was able to take the third place after beating Danish Dynamite in the bronze match.
Danish star players from tXL and TLR under the name Danish Dynamite was the second team to suffer a loss in the semi final. Team skipper TheEQ had to see his team go out by a 1-2 loss to the later champs.
Aside from hot-shot graphics card from Sapphire, KD-Gaming could raise a 50,000 SEK (~5,000€) check at the end of the day.
As of now, the Digital Youth Festival qualifier for Germany seems to be canceled, as KD-Gaming is the only team who signed up on the tournament page.
