Team Liquid PH denied SRG.OG the chance to become repeat MSC champions, and brought the title back to the Philippines after a two-year drought.

Filipino Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) powerhouse Team Liquid PH claimed the championship of the MLBB Mid Season Cup 2025 after they defeated Malaysian rivals Selangor Red Giants OG (SRG.OG), 4-1, in the tournament's best-of-seven grand finals on Saturday (2 August).

With their victory, Liquid PH claimed the grand prize of US$1 million, out of the tournament's US$3 million prize pool. Not only did Liquid PH dash SRG.OG's hopes of becoming the first-ever back-to-back MSC champions, they also reclaimed the MSC title for the Philippines after the scene's most dominant country failed to secure the championship in the past two years.

As the Season 15 champions of the MLBB Professional Leagues (MPL) in the Philippines and Malaysia, respectively, Liquid PH and SRG.OG started their MSC 2025 campaigns in the tournament's double-elimination format Group Stage in Group A.

Liquid PH had a relatively easy path to the Knockout Stage, defeating Egypt's Ultra Legends and Indonesia's ONIC to secure a direct berth to the semifinals in the single-elimination Playoffs.

Meanwhile, SRG.OG had a more shaky start, defeating Russia's Virtus.pro in the first round before falling victim to a 2-1 upset at the hands of Myanmar's Mythic SEAL. The Malaysian squad then bounced back by sweeping Cambodia's CFU Gaming to advance to the Playoffs, but had to start in the quarterfinals.

Liquid PH faced ONIC once again in the semifinals, with the Filipino squad winning the rematch in four games to advance to the grand finals. Meanwhile, SRG.OG had to survive back-to-back five-game slugfests to make it to the championship round. The Malaysian defending champions first took down Indonesia's RRQ Hoshi before outlasting ONIC Philippines to get one step closer to repeating as MSC champions.

SRG.OG drew first blood in the grand finals with a 15-minute win in game one, giving the Malaysian MLBB scene hope that another MSC title was well within reach. However, Liquid PH were quick to tie up the series with an 18-minute win in game two. The Filipino squad then took the lead after claiming game four in 14 minutes of action.

The pivotal fourth game of the grand finals was shaping up to be a closely-contested one, as SRG.OG needed to win it to have any hope of repeating as MSC champions. Instead, Liquid PH utterly dominated them in a 10-minute stomp to take a commanding 3-1 series lead. The Filipino squad then crushed their opponents' last stand in a 15-minute game five to secure the MSC 2025 title.

Liquid PH EXP Laner Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya was awarded the MVP nod for his stellar play all throughout the tournament and in the grand finals, earning him a US$10,000 prize.
