• Hitman: World of Assassination is coming to mobile
  • At least on iOS, allowing you to jump into Agent 47's adventures
  • Take on Providence, and all manner of elusive targets with either subtlety or action

Over the weekend, there have been plenty of high-profile showcases to take note of. And while many were focused on consoles or PC, there were more than a few interesting tidbits for mobile. Not least, IO Interactive announced that their hit revival series Hitman: World of Assassination would be coming to iOS!

Collecting Hitman 1, 2, and 3, as well as its expansions, Hitman: World of Assassination was the rebranded title for the trilogy. It sees Agent 47, everyone's favourite bald assassin, taking on a new threat in the form of the secretive group called Providence.

As you might expect, that means making your way through a number of far-flung exotic locales. From Paris, to Dubai, New York and beyond, you'll need to perform hits while making it look like an accident, catch your target unawares and out of sight or simply running in guns blazing, whichever takes your fancy as World of Assassination offers both open-ended missions and objectives to help carry out hits.

A hit,man

It's not clear exactly how World of Assassination will be priced on mobile, especially considering that on other platforms it's split into a somewhat confusing mess of parts, DLC and other expansions. But at the same time, this undoubtedly will present a compelling package for players and a real coup for iOS.

Whereas other high-profile releases such as Resident Evil have been scoffed at, Hitman: World of Assassination has many strengths over them. A long-term business model, a huge swathe of continent already available, and more to come besides, such as the recently announced Le Chiffre elusive target, which sees Mads Mikkelsen reprise his role from Casino Royale.

Either way, we'll be watching Hitman: World of Assassination closely for its slated release in summer 2025. In the meantime, maybe it's worth taking a look at the recently-released 'try before you buy' update for Hitman: Blood Money - Reprisal and jump into a real classic of the series from before this latest revival?
