Square Enix has released Dragon Quest III - one of the most popular games in the series - on iOS and Android in Japan.

While Square Enix has said that the original Dragon Quest trilogy will be coming to smartphones, we don't have a release date for this one.

All we do know is that it should arrive in Europe and the US at some point in the future. Handy, I know.

But, hey, Dragon Quest I was released earlier this month, so you should be plenty busy, anyway.

Dragon Quest III has you playing as a hero who, on their 16th birthday, is summoned to fight a legendary villain.

One thing to note is that this isn't a port of the NES version of the game. It's the Super Famicom / Game Boy Color version, so it looks prettier and includes the bonus dungeon.

It costs 1200 yen in Japan, which should mean it'll cost £9.99 / $13.99 over here.

We'll let you know when Dragon Quest III (or should that be Dargon Quest?) is out in US and / or Europe.
