Playnery's free-to-play action-RPG Mother of Myth is now available to download on iOS.

Mother of Myth starts as all action-RPGs must. Monsters ravage human towns, snatching your friends up and igniting your heroic journey.

From there, you'll be tapping to move through levels, to open chests full of loot, and to attack enemies. On occasion, you'll also have to make use of a health vial so that you don't die.

Your other gesture is the swipe. While attacking enemies, you can swipe a pattern to use a special move, in doing so calling upon the powers of Zeus and other Greek gods.

The special moves are attached to cards that you unlock for completing dungeons and defeating their bosses. Along with levelling-up your character, collecting more powerful cards is vital to surviving the tougher levels.

There is a story to go along with the action of Mother of Myth, but it's far from original and easy to ignore.

Although this is a free-to-play game, I was surprised to find myself asking if it even had IAPs after a short play session.

It turns out there are some in-app purchases in this one, but you really have to search for them. Basically, they're not shoved in your face. I always appreciate that.
