The Pyramid map in Project Escape Room is one of the more involved challenges the game has thrown at us. But once you break it down puzzle by puzzle, it’s actually really satisfying to complete.

I’ve gone through the whole thing and laid out every step below so you don’t have to fumble around in the dark – or well, in an ancient Egyptian tomb.

Puzzle 1: The Coffin Button Order

The very first thing you need to solve is the central button puzzle. There are eight buttons in the middle of the room, and you need to press them in the correct order.

To figure out that order, you have to check each numbered coffin – the ones with dots on them – and identify the symbol inside or near each one.

Here’s what each coffin holds:

  • Coffin 1 (1 dot) has a crown inside.
  • Coffin 2 (2 dots) has an Ankh.
  • Coffin 3 (3 dots) has an Axe.
  • Coffin 4 (4 dots) has a fish.
  • Coffin 5 (5 dots) has arrows.
  • Coffin 6 (6 dots) has a bull’s head.
  • Coffin 7 (7 dots) has a vase nearby.
  • Coffin 8 (8 dots) has a lizard behind it.

Button Press Order

Now head to the center and press the buttons in this exact sequence:

Crown is first, then Ankh, then Flag, then Fish, then Arrow, then Bull, then Vase, and finally Lizard.

Press them in that order and the statue in the center will move, opening up a brand new area.

Before you rush in though, pay close attention to the colors shown — red, blue, green, yellow. You’ll need that exact order for the next puzzle, so jot it down.

Puzzle 2: The Hourglass Puzzle

Go inside the newly opened room and check out the four hourglasses. Each one matches a color from before, and you need to note how full each one is.

Red is half full. Blue is only a quarter full. Green is completely full. Yellow is half full, same as red.

Now go to the panel and enter the values in that same color order.

Red gets clicked twice for half. Blue gets clicked once for quarter. Green goes all the way to full. Yellow gets clicked twice like red.

Get it right and the door opens up. Pretty simple once you know what you’re looking at.

Puzzle 3: The Magnifying Glass Symbol Puzzle

This one is a little sneaky. There are multiple symbols visible in the room, but only some of them are the correct ones you actually need.

Pick up the magnifying glass and look through it. It filters out the decoys and highlights only the symbols that matter for the next step.

There are four correct symbols. Go to the treasure chest and select those four symbols. Do it right and the chest opens up, rewarding you with a key.

Take that key straight to the door and use it on the keyhole to unlock the next room.

Puzzle 4: The Compass Decoder

This is the most complex-looking puzzle in the Pyramid map. It honestly looks intimidating at first glance, but once it clicks, it’s not bad at all.

There are symbols scattered around the room. You need to decode each one — they all translate to directions on a compass. You also need to pay attention to whether each move is clockwise or anticlockwise.

The four moves you need to make are:

  • First, rotate Clockwise to South.
  • Second, rotate Anticlockwise to Northwest.
  • Third, rotate Clockwise to East.
  • Fourth, rotate Anticlockwise to Southwest.

Take it one step at a time and confirm where the needle lands before moving on to the next rotation. Nail all four and the door opens.

Puzzle 5: The Gem Eye Count

Almost at the finish line. This room has a statue with colored gem eyes, and you need to count how many diamonds of each color are hidden around the room.

There are 3 blue diamonds, 7 green diamonds, 3 purple diamonds, and 4 red diamonds.

Head to the panel and enter those numbers into the matching color slots. Get it right and a coffin pops open, giving you an Ankh item.

Final Step: Use the Ankh to Escape

Take the Ankh to the final door and use it to open it. Walk through and you’ve officially escaped the Pyramid. That’s the whole thing done.
