The Sinister Forest is the second map in Bring Back The Sun on Roblox, and it’s a significant step up from the Wizard’s House. There are two obbies to get through, a multi-ingredient fertilizer puzzle, and a treasure hunt to wrap things up — so there’s quite a bit more going on here than the first map.

I’ve played through the whole thing and broken it down step by step below so you know exactly what to do and when.

Full Walkthrough: Bring Back The Sun! SINISTER FOREST

Step 1: Complete the Mushroom Obby

The map kicks off with a mushroom obby right at the start. Take your time with this one — if you fall, you have to restart the whole obby from the beginning, not just from where you dropped.

It’s not the hardest obby in the world, but don’t rush it. Get across carefully and move on.

Step 2: The Glass Puzzle and Code 9898

Once you’re on the other side, find the book and read it. It tells you there’s a rock that can break any glass nearby.

Look around for the happy rock and pick it up. Use it to smash the glass case open. Inside you’ll find a text — read it, and it gives you the code: 9898.

Jump back down and head to the wall with the number pad. Enter 9898 and it will reward you with a pickaxe. Grab it — you’ll need it very soon.

Step 3: Collect the Red Plant Before Going Back

Here’s something the game doesn’t remind you of but is important — before you head back across the mushroom obby, make sure to collect the red plant that’s on this side.

You’ll need it as one of the three ingredients for the fertilizer puzzle coming up. It’s easy to forget and annoying to have to come back for it later, so grab it now while you’re here.

Then climb back up and do the mushroom obby one more time to get back to the other side.

Step 4: Break the Rock and Get the Crystal

Back on the main side, use your pickaxe to break the large rock you’ll spot nearby. It shatters to reveal a crystal inside.

Take the crystal over to Mr. Mouse — the little mouse character standing near a locked door. Hand the crystal to him and he’ll unlock the door for you as a thank you.

Head inside.

Step 5: The Fertilizer Puzzle

This is the most involved puzzle in the Sinister Forest, but the recipe is pretty clear once you know what you’re looking for.

First, pick up the seed in the area and plant it in the mud patch nearby. The seed won’t grow on its own though — you need to make fertilizer for it.

The fertilizer recipe calls for three plants: one red plant, one pink plant, and one blue plant.

You already have the red plant from earlier. The pink plant is right here in this area — pick it up. Then look around for the blue plant and collect that too.

Take all three plants and put them into the fertilizer box. Once all three are in, the fertilizer is ready.

Place the fertilizer on the soil where you planted the seed. A massive tree will shoot up almost instantly.

Step 6: Use the Magic Gloves to Drop the Tree

Now you need to make that giant tree fall onto the fence so you can get to the other side.

Find the magic gloves nearby and use them on the tree. The tree will topple over onto the fence, flattening it and opening a path forward.

Head through to the next area.

Step 7: Complete the Second Obby

Another obby here — this time it’s a log-style obstacle course. Again, be careful not to fall into the water or you’ll have to restart it from the beginning.

Take it steady and you’ll get across without too much trouble.

Step 8: Find the Shovel and the Potion

Once you’re on the other side, go around behind the giant rock. You’ll find a shovel tucked behind it.

Now use the shovel to dig up or remove the dead patches on the ground nearby. Under one specific dead patch you’ll find a potion. Make sure you’re checking the right one — it’s a particular patch, not all of them.

Pick up the potion.

Step 9: Climb to the Roof and Find the Owl

Take the potion over to the doorknob of the building nearby and use it on the handle. The potion melts the doorknob and you can enter.

Inside you’ll find an axe. Pick it up and use it to chop the wood in the area. The chopped wood automatically turns into a ladder.

Before you climb up, make sure to grab the apple sitting nearby. There’s someone on the roof who needs it and you’ll want it in hand before you go up.

Place the ladder against the wall to climb up to the roof. It’s a little fiddly to get onto the ladder, so be patient with it.

Once you’re on the roof, give the apple to the owl waiting there. The owl will hand you a chest key in return.

Step 10: Open the Chest and Get the Treasure Map

Head back to the obby area and this time take a right turn from the starting point. You’ll find a chest there.

Use the chest key to open it. Inside is a treasure map.

Step 11: Follow the X and Complete the Map

Here’s where it gets a little clever. Look at the treasure map — it shows an X mark behind a rock.

The fastest way to get to the spawn area is to intentionally die. You’ll respawn back at the start of the map near the beginning area.

Now look for the X mark on the ground behind a rock near your spawn location. Take out the shovel and use it on that spot. Dig it up and that’s it — the map is complete.
