Riot Games has officially confirmed Lux and Samira as the next champions joining 2XKO, the upcoming free-to-play tag fighting game set in the League of Legends universe. The announcement was made during Evo Vegas, where Riot also revealed it has expanded its character roadmap and now plans to release six new fighters throughout 2026 instead of the five previously announced.

Riot Expands the 2026 Character Roadmap

Lux and Samira are the latest additions to 2XKO’s growing roster.

Their reveal follows a steady rollout of new fighters this year. Caitlyn joined the roster in January, Akali arrived in April, and Senna and Thresh became playable on June 9. With Lux and Samira now confirmed, Riot has increased its original roadmap by adding a sixth champion to the 2026 lineup.

The expanded release schedule reflects Riot’s continued support for the game’s roster ahead of launch.

Lux Gets Her First Gameplay Showcase

During the Evo presentation, Riot debuted the first gameplay footage of Lux following her visual redesign.

The preview showed her facing Darius, using her staff for a series of close-range attacks rather than relying primarily on the long-range magic abilities that define her playstyle in League of Legends.

Riot has not revealed her complete moveset, confirming that a full gameplay breakdown will be released later this fall.

Lux remains one of League of Legends’ most recognizable champions and has consistently ranked among the game’s most-played characters since her debut.

Samira Confirmed, Full Reveal Coming Later

While Lux received gameplay footage, Samira’s appearance at Evo was limited to a brief character introduction.

Riot did not reveal her moveset or gameplay mechanics, but confirmed that a full showcase will arrive later this year after Lux’s complete gameplay presentation.

2XKO Continues Building Its Launch Roster

2XKO is Riot Games’ upcoming 2v2 tag-based fighting game, featuring champions from the League of Legends universe reimagined for competitive fighting game combat.

The title has already undergone multiple public playtests ahead of its planned Fall 2026 launch, with Riot continuing to expand the playable roster through regular character announcements. With Lux and Samira now officially confirmed—and an additional sixth fighter added to the roadmap—players can expect even more roster reveals as release approaches.
