Masters Shanghai is the talk of the town at the moment. Riot developers have stopped accommodating changes to the game exclusively for this tournament. Players can expect changes to duelists soon, but for now, all eyes are on Masters Shanghai. 100 Thieves have been running over teams throughout this year. The addition of Boostio seems to be the turning point for the organization, and they are currently on a roll. Keep reading for more roster news on DRX and NRG.

100 Thieves Re-born?

100 Thieves entered the NRG Masters Shanghai with high expectations, having already proven themselves in the Americas. Previously, Hiko and Nitro led the team to multiple LAN events. Ever since they both left, the team has struggled to qualify for major LAN events. Masters Shanghai looks like the place for 100T to show their worth again, and they are making some bold plays!

Boostio’s 100T went against FUT Esports, which featured the Masters specialist “Cned” on their team. Boostio vs. Cned was nothing short of a one-sided match. Riot even banned Boostio from using his new celebrations on stage. The series began on Icebox, where 100 Thieves dominated with a 13-2 scoreline. FUT Esports struggled to keep up, winning only two rounds in the entire map. 100T’s Cryo, the MVP on Brimstone, delivered an astounding performance with 32 kills and an ACS (Average Combat Score) of 452. He almost broke the record for the highest ACS in a VCT match. Map 2 was pretty much the same, with 100T once again winning by a huge margin. The final score was 13-5, and FUT Esports stood no chance for a comeback. 100T’s Boostio went on to say, “I definitely think we are the best team in the world right now,” in the post-match interview.

DRX and NRG make key changes for the remaining season

Meanwhile, Valorant’s roster change fiasco continued to rise, with major news coming in from DRX and NRG. After a run of bad tournaments, DRX benched Stax. This shocked almost everyone following the Valorant pro scene. Stax was a regular in almost every LAN event, consistently performing on the big stage. It looks like 2024 is the year for his streak to come to an end. Whether he will fight for his place or move to a new team is yet to be determined.

NRG has officially announced the signing of FNS and sOm. This move had been rumored throughout the week, and now we have confirmation. Until last week, both players primarily concentrated on watch parties and streaming. Now the organization has officially announced their arrival. While labeling them as ex-pros, they were hardly away for six months, so the “ex” factor isn’t as strong as it might seem. NRG has reportedly removed Demon1 and Marved from the starting lineup to feature FNS and sOm. While Demon1 might not stay on the bench for long, it looks like Marved is close to a retirement announcement. Marved already played for Sentinels and NRG after his OpTic days. Both of these stints turned out to be disappointing, and he has hinted at taking a long break.

At the same time, Demon1 might move from NRG back to EG. He’s back on the ranked grind with his ex-teammate Jawgemo, so who knows what’s on the horizon for Demon1?
