Valorant Patch 10.06 brings some notable changes, especially for KAY/O. One of the biggest adjustments is a rework to KAY/O’s flashes, introducing a new bounce mechanic. The patch also reduces KAY/O’s resurrection time and includes a set of bug fixes. Oh, and those extra teleporters on Bind? Total April Fools—only the KAY/O buffs are real.

KAY/O Flash Mechanics Reworked

KAY/O has always had a strong pick rate in pro play, but ranked players often struggle with him due to his demanding lineup knowledge and team coordination requirements. This patch aims to narrow that gap.

The overhand flash now activates a 0.8-second wind-up when it bounces before popping. This doesn’t apply if the flash is already within 0.8 seconds of activation, so it won’t extend the total timing. It adds a unique sound and visual cue, giving more mid-range flexibility while maintaining high-skill potential for those perfect pop flashes.

Other flash-related buffs include:

  • Underhand flash duration increased

  • Wider voice line radius

  • Reduced unequip time

  • Mini-map indicator for teammates

These are straight buffs across the board. The underhand flash is more effective, the timing feels snappier, and teammates now have a visual indicator to help coordinate attacks. For decent KAY/O players, this patch significantly increases utility potential.

KAY/O’s ultimate also received a resurrection time reduction to just 1.5 seconds, encouraging faster team revives and rewarding aggressive plays.

Valorant Patch 10.06 Balances Pro and Ranked Play

KAY/O has always been a solid pick in pro matches due to his overall strong kit. His suppression knife remains one of the best utility tools, and the resurrection buff makes his ult even more impactful. These new changes give ranked players better tools to succeed without making KAY/O overwhelmingly dominant in pro play. It’s a fine balance, and Riot seems to be threading the needle well here.

Given the current breach-heavy meta, KAY/O might not replace Breach everywhere, but on some maps, this patch could bump KAY/O into more regular usage. KAY/O wasn’t weak before—this just makes him even stronger.

Yoru Fakeout Price Increased

Yoru’s Fakeout ability now costs 200 credits, up from 100. This change addresses how cost-effective the clone was, especially in the current meta where it’s used to bait out abilities like Vyse’s wall.

This adjustment might alter pistol-round buying strategies for Yoru mains, but it’s a fair move. The value Yoru got out of Fakeout was disproportionate, and this evens it out without gutting the agent.

Vyse Gets Needed Duration Nerfs

Vyse also receives nerfs in Valorant Patch 10.06. While she had carved out a strong place in the meta since patch 9.11, her abilities lasted a bit too long compared to similar utility.

Changes include:

  • Razor Vines duration reduced from 10 to 7 seconds

  • Shear duration reduced from 8 to 6 seconds

These adjustments don’t make Vyse bad. Her global utility, fast flash cooldown, and solid ultimate still make her a top-tier pick. The nerfs simply make her less oppressive and put her in a better spot relative to other agents.

Vyse remains a strong option for most of the map pool, and these changes should make gameplay more dynamic without compromising her identity.

This patch clearly targets the middle ground—adjusting agents like KAY/O and Vyse to be more balanced across both pro and ranked play. KAY/O gets meaningful buffs that lower his skill floor while maintaining his ceiling, and Vyse’s ability durations now feel more in line with the rest of the roster.

As for the April Fools’ Bind teleporters—don’t get too excited. They’re not real.

The only major missing piece in this patch? A nerf for Tejo. It seems like Riot is saving that one for a larger overhaul, possibly after Masters Toronto.
