Who’s Joining From VCT Americas

Four powerhouse teams are joining the Paris competition after qualifying from VCT Americas. G2 Esports, Sentinels, NRG, and MIBR will lead to represent America for a shot at the grand prize. It was a dominating competitive season for G2 Esports after winning three VCT Americas trophies this year.

Their consistent performances took over the Kickoff, Stage 1, and Stage 2 tournaments and secured a prized win. They also won second place at Masters Bangkok and fourth at Masters Toronto, making them a huge favourite in the tournament. On the other hand, Sentinels secure a slot with their consistent international performances.

The Sentinels qualified for every major event this year despite failing to secure any trophies from domestic competition. NRG also made a strong impression this year, particularly during Stage 2, but fell short against G2. Meanwhile, MIBR qualified through VCT Points despite the roster changes and post-Tejo meta transitions. 

VCT Pacific Contenders: Led by Masters Champions

Another tournament favorite that joins the Valorant Champions 2025 tournament is Paper Rex. After their impressive Masters Toronto and Pacific Stage 2 performances, they are set to make history on the bigger stage. They are currently a team to beat with their frontline aggressions, role flexibility, and strong duelist core. 

Following their recent S-tier International success, the Singaporean squad now enters the top of most power rankings. T1 also seeks a challenge in the upcoming tournament after the successful run at Masters Bangkok. They beat the explosive G2 Esports with their disciplined play and excellent offensive capabilities. 

The Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ) also qualified from their incredible lower bracket run during the Stage 2 playoffs. Their team relies on their own comfort compositions that withstand the meta changes after multiple patch notes. Meanwhile, Asia-Pacific’s underdog, DRX, is also joining after winning the Pacific kickoff.

Experienced And Rising Talent For EMEA

The European region is also showcasing its set of legendary organizations and emerging powerhouses for the tournament. One of the European teams to beat is Fnatic, which has unparalleled championship experience. They are the only organizations that qualify for every VALORANT Champions event. 

Although they missed the Masters Bangkok, Fnatic entered the grand finals for the Masters Toronto and won Stage 1. Their roster includes heavy hitters such as kaajak and Alfajer alongside the veterans Boaster, crashes, and Chronicle. 

EMEA Stage 2 champs’ Team Liquid also takes a spot following the smooth playoff run and qualifying for both Masters events. You won’t erase them from the narratives when talking about team consistency. Then, GIANTX and Team Heretics will also represent Europe despite initially missing the Masters Bangkok.

VCT China Ready for Global Stage

China is also bringing in four competitive teams that will challenge the rest of the participating squads. One of them was Bilibili Gaming, which topped the region after dominating Stage 2 in VCT China. Their fast-paced chaos and methodical macro gameplay allow the team to reign over the competition.

EDward Gaming also returns to the global stage and remains a threat despite failing to dominate VCT China. You shouldn’t count this team out when it comes to experience and individual talent. They also won last year’s Champions, sealing their competitive position in the tournament. 

Dragon Ranger Gaming and XLG Esports secured the last spots to represent China with their brilliant performances. DRG added significant firepower to their roster by signing Demon1 ahead of the Champions. Meanwhile, XLG remains a formidable opponent with their consistent regional standings.

Tournament Format and What’s at Stake

For Valorant Champions 2025, they will be dividing these 16 teams into four groups for the group stage on September 12-22. Only the top two teams of each group will proceed in the Playoffs bracket. This stage starts on September 25 and serves as their path towards the Grand Final.
