Active Roadmap & Event Progression

Trailer Launch Transcendence Trailer “Sudden Snow” debuted globally online on June 25, 2026 Snezhnaya Patch Comprehensive Version 7.0 frost kingdom geographic expansion launches in upcoming split Playable Tsaritsa The Cryo Archon banner launch is currently projected by community leaks for Version 7.3 Stellar Reactions Tsaritsa banner kit is heavily rumored to function as a support engine for Cryo chains

The trailer runs about five minutes and introduces fourteen characters tied to Version 7.0 and the Snezhnaya region. Eight of them are brand-new faces. The rest are returning Fatui Harbingers whose presence confirms they will play a major role in the story when Snezhnaya launches.

If you have been saving Primogems or just want to know who is actually in this update and when to expect it all, here is the full breakdown.

The Tsaritsa Revealed: Her Full Name, Design, and What She Is

Her official name is Anastasya Feodorovna Snezhnaya, confirmed by HoYoverse directly in the trailer’s character introduction post.

She is the Cryo Archon, the absolute ruler of Snezhnaya, and the supreme commander of all Fatui and the Eleven Harbingers. She holds the Cryo Gnosis and has been orchestrating the Gnosis collection scheme that has been the underlying thread of the entire Genshin story since Mondstadt.

In the trailer, she appears as a tall female character with blue hair carrying a silver tint, a striking icy tiara, fur-trimmed regal attire, pointed elf-like ears, and what looks like a scythe as her weapon. Her English voice actor is Lara Korba, and her Japanese voice actor is Tomatsu Haruka.

Her closing monologue in the trailer goes: “Your real enemy is the blessings given by deluded gods.” That line, combined with her confrontation with an unknown entity and scenes involving her son, signals this Archon Quest will be among the most story-heavy in the game’s history.

When Will the Tsaritsa Be Playable?

She is not a Day 1 pickup for Version 7.0. According to leaker Full Stop Chan (shared via Reddit user astrelya), the Tsaritsa is projected for Version 7.3 as a playable character.

Per leaker Little Puppet (via Reddit user KaidoPklevel), she is not expected to be a main DPS. The current theory is that she will function as a support for Snezhnaya’s new Stellar Cryo reactions, which were introduced with Sandrone in Version 6.7.

She is likely to be one of the strongest characters in the entire 7.x cycle, similar to how Columbina was dominant in Nod-Krai. These are leak-based projections and not yet officially confirmed by HoYoverse.

HoYoverse’s official Character Introduction post listed every character shown. Here they are with their confirmed English and Japanese voice actors.

What Each New Character Looks Like in the Trailer

Vodyanitsa is confirmed to be an opera singer from Snezhnaya, with lore references appearing in character voice lines across the game. Her EN voice actress Suzie Yeung brings a recognizable face to the role.

Alyosha is shown with what appears to be a claymore and has a scene where he either summons or transforms near a bear. That mechanic alone has the theorycrafting side of the fandom going wild.

Odette moves with a ballerina-style fighting pattern and fights with daggers. She is already being compared to a dancer/assassin archetype and will likely draw huge interest from fans of elegant design.

Valeriy carries a sniper rifle and wears a long coat, drawing instant comparisons to Fontaine’s aesthetic. Fontaine remains the most universally praised region in the game’s history among fans, so the visual callback is a smart one by HoYoverse.

Vesna and Danica had less screen time in the main trailer but both showed up with distinct designs. Full character previews for both were released by HoYoverse as individual Instagram extracts the following day.

Noy and Mitya appear to be connected to a group called the Djna, described in the trailer as an honor guard serving the Tsaritsa. Their designs carry a fairy-like quality with small wings and mint-toned color palettes.

The Story Setup: What “Transcend the Rules” Actually Means

The trailer’s central theme is built around a philosophical argument delivered in narration: the rules that govern Teyvat are “essentially curses,” and living by them means suffering under all of them. Three paths are laid out: overthrow the rules, follow them, or transcend them.

This maps directly onto what long-time players already suspect about the Tsaritsa’s motivations. She is not simply collecting Gnoses for power. Her war against the “Heavenly Principles” (Phanes) appears to be a deliberate attempt to break the divine order that has controlled Teyvat since the beginning of the game’s lore.

The trailer also shows a scene where the Tsaritsa appears to kill her own son. Whether that is metaphorical, a flashback, or literal story is unclear, but it is already the most discussed moment from the trailer across Reddit and community forums.

Project Stusia, referenced by characters in the trailer, seems to be a governance-level initiative within Snezhnaya’s political structure. It is not yet fully explained in official material.

Version 7.0 Release Date and What Comes Before It

Snezhnaya and Genshin Impact Version 7.0 are expected to launch on August 12, 2026.

Before that, Version Luna VIII (the final pre-Snezhnaya update) is set for release on July 1, 2026, and will wrap up the current story arc.

The new elemental mechanic coming with Snezhnaya is called Stellar Reactions, a Cryo-based system that follows the same structural logic as Fontaine’s Arkhe and Natlan’s Nightsoul. Sandrone’s kit was already built around Stellar Conduct, one variant of this mechanic, when she was released in Version 6.7. The Tsaritsa is expected to become the premier unit for this system when she arrives in 7.3. These are leak-based projections and not yet officially confirmed by HoYoverse.
