The Crew Unlimited Adds Modding, Cheats, and Save Tools Ahead of Launch

The Crew Unlimited project is bringing the original The Crew back online, with access beginning on September 15, 2025. After a year and a half of being offline, community developers have managed to revive the game using custom servers. The initial release will focus on a fully functional offline single-player mode, allowing players to save, export, and manage multiple profiles seamlessly.
A multiplayer beta is also planned for later, but the team chose to prioritize single-player stability before introducing online sessions. This staged approach ensures smoother gameplay and avoids issues like corrupted saves and desync problems that plagued earlier versions.
Modding Tools and Physics Tweaks
One of the most exciting updates in The Crew Unlimited is the introduction of modding support. While the tools won’t arrive immediately, developers have already showcased early features, such as custom handling configurations and the return of pre-Wild Run jump physics. These changes give players more control over car performance while keeping improvements from later updates intact.

Modding will also allow texture swaps, custom skies, and potentially entire overhauls of vehicle dynamics. With the game disconnected from Ubisoft’s servers, future updates may unlock extensive customization possibilities and even unique server-specific setups for different gameplay styles.
The Crew Unlimited Adds Cheats and Save Management
For the first time, players will have full access to cheats and flexible save game options. Money boosts, instant XP gains, and car unlocks will be available for those who want to experiment or skip progression barriers. In addition, The Crew Unlimited introduces complete save management — including the ability to create, delete, import, and export save files.
This feature opens the door to sharing save states between players, restoring lost profiles, and even maintaining multiple playthroughs with different setups. It’s a big change from the original game, where server locks prevented such freedom.
Multiplayer Beta and Future Updates
While the September 15 launch focuses on single-player, the development team has confirmed plans for a multiplayer beta shortly after release. Early testing has already shown promising results, including working co-op campaign missions, PvP events, and Calling All Units police chases.

Future updates may also enable hybrid save syncing, allowing players to carry offline progress into multiplayer servers. Additionally, The Crew 2 and The Crew Motorfest will receive official offline mode patches from Ivory Tower, giving fans long-term access to every game in the series without server dependencies.
