Soulframe September 2025 Update: New Preludes, Dungeons, and Combat Changes

Soulframe continues to grow in early testing, and the September 2025 update brings major changes to exploration, combat, and progression. With Preludes 10 live and Preludes 11 arriving soon, Digital Extremes is expanding the open world, refining its dungeons, and improving the action-focused gameplay loop.
Bigger Open World and Procedural Dungeons
The latest update nearly doubles the playable map size, adding new points of interest, settlements, underground crypts, and social hubs. This expansion improves seamless exploration, letting players traverse open environments without loading screens.
The procedural dungeon system remains one of Soulframe’s most distinctive features. Each run creates unique room layouts, branching paths, and encounters. With new crypt dungeon types now requiring crafted keys, exploration offers deeper rewards and surprises, keeping replayability high.
Combat System Improvements in Soulframe September 2025 Update
Combat has received a significant overhaul, making melee-focused action feel more responsive and impactful. While Soulslike comparisons persist, Soulframe avoids heavy animation locking and instead allows animation canceling for faster, combo-driven gameplay.
Key highlights include:
Sidearms Added — New secondary weapons introduce ranged flexibility for melee-focused builds.
Unique Weapon Combos — Each weapon type features distinct light, heavy, dash, and drop attacks.
Class Variety — New Pacts expand playstyles, including the Oring Pact, which summons wolf companions for combat support.
Improved Feedback — Updated sound design, hit reactions, and animation weight make fights more immersive.
World Quests, Events, and MMO Elements
The update completely reworks world quests, adding multi-stage objectives, branching choices, and faction-driven tasks. Sparrow Tales now feature additional layers of exploration, boss fights like the Corrupted Stag, and multiple completion paths.
Social hubs have also been introduced, allowing players to interact, trade, and gather before heading back into personal instances. While Soulframe remains heavily instanced compared to traditional MMOs, Digital Extremes plans to increase shared-world interactions in future updates.
Preludes 11 and What’s Next
Preludes 11, scheduled for September 2025, is set to add even more content:
New Bromius Fable questline expanding lore and story depth.
Fresh starter armor sets and customization via Verminia’s color systems.
Expanded social hub features to encourage co-op exploration.
Improved crafting recipes and rare blueprint fragments for weapons and classes.
With Preludes 11 on the horizon and Devstream 9 arriving September 12, players can expect further details about new content, progression updates, and upcoming invite waves for testing.
