Schedule 1’s Anniversary Update (v0.4.5) dropped the Golden M1911 and the Big Sprinkler, and most players stopped there. But buried inside that same update is a mechanic that changes how your whole operation runs: you can now hand your hired employees a product with the right effects, and they will physically move faster for up to 12 hours.

Schedule 1: Automated Heavenly Shroom & Worker Buff Guide

Feature / StepSetup Requirements & ActionsMobile Tip / Quick StrategyWorker Speed Buff Give employees product with the Athletic effect. Use Shrooms: Lasts 12 hours. One dose covers an entire play session. Heavenly Quality Maintain Mushroom Beds below 15°C; set racks to Heavenly target. Mixing Hack: Add Energy Drink (Station 1) and Paracetamol (Station 2). Station Layout 4 Beds, 1 Spawn Station, 2 Mixing MK2s, 1 Packaging MK2, 2 Drying Racks. Placement: Place AC units first (1 Cold for beds, 1 Heat for drying). Storage Filters Set Whitelist filters for Substrate, Spore, Fertilizer, Grain, and Mixers. Must Do: If filters aren’t set in the Closet, the Handler won’t restock. Worker Roles

Botanist: Beds & Racks

Chemist: Mixing MK2s

Handler: Deliveries & Restock

Money: Drop cash in all 3 lockers or workers will stop immediately. The Loop Products move from Beds ➔ Racks ➔ Mixer 1 ➔ Mixer 2 ➔ Packaging ➔ Safe. Phone: Order supplies to the Loading Bay; the Handler automates the rest.

That alone is worth knowing. What makes it actually matter is that the best product for triggering that buff is mushrooms, the same product introduced in the Shrooms Update and the same product that reaches Heavenly quality with the right mix. So you are not just getting a speed boost. You are getting a fully automated, Heavenly-quality production line that also powers itself.

This guide covers the full build at the Stash N Dash storage unit: what to buy, where to place everything, how to wire up the automation, and how to use your own product to keep workers at peak output.

What the Worker Speed Buff Actually Does

Walk up to any hired employee, press E to talk to them, and select “I need to trade some items.” Hand them a product that carries one of two specific effects and they will start working immediately faster.

The two effects that matter:

  • Energizing: Workers run 15% faster

  • Athletic: Workers run 30% faster

The buff duration depends on what you give them.

Product Buff Duration Coke 6 hours Weed 8 hours Crystal 8 hours Shrooms 12 hours

Shrooms win by a wide margin. Twelve hours means one dose at the start of a session covers most players through an entire play period. Combine that with the fact that your mushroom product can be engineered to carry the Athletic effect through mixing, and your workers are running 30% faster on product you are already producing.

Why Shrooms Reach Heavenly Quality

Mushrooms go through three production stages before they become a sellable product.

  1. Spore Syringe + Grain Bag are loaded into the Mushroom Spawn Station to produce Shroom Spawn

  2. Shroom Spawn is mixed into Mushroom Substrate inside a Mushroom Bed to begin growing

  3. Harvested mushrooms are then dried and mixed at MK2 stations

Mushroom beds need to stay at or below 15°C / 59°F to grow properly, which is why cold AC units are mandatory in the layout. When the drying racks are set to target Heavenly quality and the two mixing stations are loaded with Energy Drink and Paracetamol respectively, the final product carries the Athletic effect and hits Heavenly tier.

Heavenly-quality product fetches the highest sell price in the game, so this build maximises both your income and your worker performance at the same time.

The Layout: Where Everything Goes Inside the Stash N Dash

Take your time placing items correctly here. The automation routing only works if the physical positions match what you set in the clipboard.

Step 1: Place the first AC unit in the corner near the back wall. Right-click it and set it to Cold.

Step 2: Place two Mushroom Beds along the left wall and two along the right wall, running toward the center of the room.

Step 3: Place the Mushroom Spawn Station in the corner near the mushroom beds. Put the Huge Storage Closet against the wall next to the nearest mushroom bed.

Step 4: On the opposite side of the room, place both MK2 Mixing Stations side by side against the wall. Place the MK2 Packaging Station along the same wall.

Step 5: Place one Drying Rack, then the second AC unit (set to Heat) right next to it, then the second Drying Rack beside the heat AC unit.

Step 6: Stack all three Lockers together in a corner. Place the Safe directly next to them.

Setting Up Full Automation With Your Clipboard

Pull out your clipboard (press 9 to equip it) and work through each station in order. Every threshold in this build is set to 20 unless noted otherwise.

Mushroom Beds to Drying Racks

Select the first two mushroom beds together. Press E to Manage. Set:

  • Spawn: Shroom Spawn

  • Additive: Fertilizer

  • Destination: Drying Rack #1

Put the clipboard away, pull it back out, then repeat for the other two mushroom beds. Set their destination to Drying Rack #2.

Drying Racks to Mixing Station #1

Select both Drying Racks. Press E to Manage. Set:

  • Target Quality: Heavenly

  • Threshold: 20

  • Destination: Mixing Station #1

Mixing Station Chain

  • Mixing Station #1: Threshold 20, Destination: Mixing Station #2

  • Mixing Station #2: Threshold 20, Destination: Packaging Station

  • Packaging Station: Destination: Safe

  • Mushroom Spawn Station: Destination: Huge Storage Closet

The Huge Storage Closet Filter Setup (Do Not Skip This)

This is where most players make mistakes. Every slot in the huge storage closet needs a whitelist filter. Click the filter icon, select Whitelist, click Add, then find the correct item. Here is the full filter layout:

Slots Item 2 slots Mushroom Substrate 2 slots Fertilizer 2 slots Grain Bag 2 slots Spore Syringe 2 slots Shroom Spawn 3 slots Energy Drink 3 slots Paracetamol 4 slots Baggie

Once all 20 filter slots are set, close the closet. Do not place any items in it yet.

Mixing Station Filters

Press E to Use (not manage) on each mixing station and set the following:

  • Mixing Station #1: Leave the product filter empty. Set the mixing filter to Energy Drink (Whitelist, Add, Energy Drink).

  • Mixing Station #2: Leave the product filter empty. Set the mixing filter to Paracetamol (Whitelist, Add, Paracetamol).

Hiring and Configuring Your Three Workers

You need exactly three employees for this build. Head to the in-game hiring board and pick up one Botanist, one Chemist, and one Handler.

Botanist Setup

Pull out your clipboard and walk to the Botanist. Press E to Manage. Assign a locker, set supplies to the Huge Storage Closet. Then hold Shift and assign all of the following stations:

  • Both Drying Racks

  • All four Mushroom Beds

  • The Mushroom Spawn Station

Press Escape when done.

Chemist Setup

Press E to Manage on the Chemist. Assign a locker. Hold Shift and select both MK2 Mixing Stations. Press Escape.

Handler Setup

Press E to Manage on the Handler. Assign the third locker. Assign the Packaging Station. Under Routes, click Add New five times. Fill in the routes as follows:

From To From To Loading Bay Huge Storage Closet Huge Storage Closet Huge Storage Closet Huge Storage Closet Huge Storage Closet Huge Storage Closet Huge Storage Closet Huge Storage Closet Mushroom Spawn Station Huge Storage Closet Mixing Station #1 Huge Storage Closet Mixing Station #2 Huge Storage Closet Packaging Station

Once all routes are confirmed, the Handler is ready.

Stocking Up and Switching It On

Open the Huge Storage Closet and load every consumable into its matching filter slot. Match each item to the whitelist filter you set earlier. Once the closet is fully stocked, drop money into each of the three lockers. Your workers will walk in and start immediately.

When supplies get low, open your phone, go to Deliveries, and place a reorder to the Stash N Dash loading bay. The Handler will collect the delivery and restock the closet without any input from you.

Giving Workers the Athletic Buff

Once your build is producing finished product, walk up to each worker individually, press E to interact, select “I need to trade some items,” and hand them one unit of your mushroom product with the Athletic effect. They will start running 30% faster for the next 12 hours.

Refresh the buff whenever it runs out. Since the product is coming out of your own packaging station and going into the Safe, you will always have supply on hand.
