Surprise Call of Duty Update Drops in Warzone and Black Ops 6

A new update just hit both Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops 6, and while it doesn’t require a download, it includes a long list of crucial fixes and changes. This surprise May 13 patch addresses multiple game–breaking bugs, UI issues, and balance concerns across multiplayer, zombies, and Warzone modes.
The update arrived quietly via an “update requires restart” prompt, and while it isn’t a full title update, it resolves several problems players have reported since the Season 3 Reloaded launch.
Perk Greed and UI Fixes in Multiplayer
One of the standout fixes targets the Perk Greed Wildcard in multiplayer. A bug that blocked players from selecting perks properly has now been resolved. Since the start of Season 3 Reloaded, this issue made the wildcard nearly unusable, breaking key builds for many players.
Additional multiplayer fixes include:
Stats in Hardcore mode now display correctly.
Incorrect icons for enemies using Flak Jacket have been fixed.
CDL mode obituary issues and missing control point details have been addressed.
Bomb icons in Search & Destroy and timers in Hardpoint now function as expected.
Zombie Mode Patch Addresses Augment and Ammo Exploits (Call of Duty Update)
Several exploits and save-related issues have also been patched in Zombies mode. Notable changes include:
PhD Slider and Tribologist augments now work properly after loading save files.
An exploit allowing players to carry over multiplayer perks into Zombies has been patched.
Fixes for the Reactive Armor augment for Juggernog are still in progress, with a fix planned for a future update.
The Ice Cloud augment now behaves correctly with the Cryofreeze ammo mod.
Frost Blast field upgrade now lasts 10 seconds instead of 5, and its charge rate has been reduced from 90 kills to 75.
Ether Shroud extra charge augment now activates correctly after save loads.
Underbarrel weapon exploits that melted bosses were also shut down with a short delay added between uses.
Warzone Bug Fixes and Ranked Changes
On the Warzone side, this patch corrects one of the most frustrating bugs: extended revive times. Players have complained about revives taking twice as long as intended in critical fights. That issue is now fixed. However, the more severe revive issue—where reviving becomes impossible—remains unresolved for now.
Other Warzone fixes and changes:
ADS speeds while crouching and prone have been corrected, improving clunky-feeling movement.
Restock replaces Fire Sale in Circle 3 in Ranked Play. Expect price rebalancing soon to prevent exploitation.
Fixed an exploit allowing the use of emotes in Ranked, especially the “hiding in box” animation.
Operator voiceovers now have proper cooldowns, preventing audio spam during reloads or pings.
High Art Event Extended + New XP Weekend (Call of Duty Update)
The High Art event has been extended until May 22, giving players another week to claim rewards. If you haven’t completed the objectives yet, this extra time may come in handy.
In addition:
The Blaze of Glory event will conclude on May 15.
The Got Your Six event is set to launch on Thursday.
Another Double XP weekend begins on May 15, making it the second weekend in a row with boosted XP across modes.
While this wasn’t a massive content drop, the May 13 update for Call of Duty addresses several long-standing gameplay and stability issues. From fixing multiplayer perk systems to closing Zombies exploits and solving revive bugs in Warzone, this patch should improve the experience across the board.
With Season 4 still on the horizon, players can now prepare more smoothly with corrected mechanics and a helpful double XP boost coming up.
