The developers of Path of Exile 2 have announced a major update called The Third Edict, launching on August 29, 2025, across all platforms. Alongside this release, players will get a free weekend event with full game access, making it an excellent opportunity to test new features and content before committing to Early Access or the full release.

The Third Edict Update in Path of Exile 2

The Third Edict brings Act 4 into the game, introducing the Archipelago Karui region. Players can explore eight unique islands, sixteen new areas, twelve new bosses, and more than one hundred new monster types. Campaign replay requirements are removed, meaning the old Cruel difficulty has been retired.

Instead, the storyline now includes three narrative Interlude Acts, bridging the main campaign with endgame content. These acts provide fresh challenges while keeping progression smooth and direct.
