Paralives Studio has released update 0.1.5 for its life simulation game, bringing a host of quality-of-life improvements, new customization options, and bug fixes. Following a strong launch that saw the indie title surpass one million copies sold in its first month, the team continues to expand the experience while working toward larger features planned for future updates.

The latest patch focuses primarily on improving save management, customization, and overall gameplay stability.

Save System Receives a Major Overhaul

One of the biggest improvements in version 0.1.5 is a complete optimization of the save system.

New save files now average around 30 MB, a significant reduction from the previous average of roughly 500 MB. Smaller saves help reduce storage usage while also improving loading times.

The update also introduces several new save management features:

  • Steam Cloud support, allowing save files to sync automatically across multiple PCs.
  • Multiple autosaves, with the game now keeping the three most recent versions of every autosave, making it possible to restore an earlier save if something goes wrong.

New Features and Customization Options

Beyond technical improvements, update 0.1.5 adds a variety of new gameplay and customization features.

Appearance Changes

Paras can now freely change their appearance by interacting with a mirror or visiting the hospital and pharmacy. Most Paramaker options are available, though personality, relationships, life stage, and status remain unchanged.

New Decorative Objects

Several new decorative items have been added, including:

  • Bath towels
  • Hand towels

More than 40 new illustrations have also been introduced for photo frames.

Expanded Custom Images

Players can now apply custom images to additional objects, including:

  • Mugs
  • Rugs
  • Skateboards
  • Curtains
  • Cushions
  • Flags

Improved Paramaker Experience

The Paramaker now features:

  • New baby presets for the random generator.
  • A redesigned label interface.
  • Dynamic music that becomes softer as the camera zooms closer to your Para.

Build Mode Improvements

Players can now restore lots to their original terrain, making it easier to undo landscaping changes.

Modding Improvements

Mod support has also received a small quality-of-life upgrade.

A new button allows players to enable or disable every installed mod with a single click, making troubleshooting much easier.

Gameplay Adjustments

Several gameplay systems have been updated as well.

Cancelling the Go to Work or Go to School action now results in a performance penalty, encouraging players to stay on schedule.

The train has also received a visual update, replacing its previous signage with curtains to improve visibility.

Bug Fixes

Version 0.1.5 addresses a wide range of issues throughout the game, including:

  • Paras in relationships no longer become embarrassed when using the bathroom near their partner.
  • Fixed several missing eating animations.
  • Art Bundle 2 now functions correctly, with reduced painting requirements.
  • Resolved multiple cases where fires could not be extinguished.
  • Water collectors, wind turbines, and solar panels now properly reduce household bills.
  • Marriage-related wishes now complete correctly.
  • Fixed an issue that repeatedly queued work and school actions after canceling them.
  • Roberto now correctly appears as the Town Hall skill master.
  • Resolved a bug that caused some player-controlled Paras to disappear.
  • Baby presets no longer include visible teeth.
  • Paras no longer remain seated or asleep after purchasing a new lot.
  • Nicknames are now preserved when saving households to the library.
  • Fixed terrain tiles where grass could not be removed.

Known Issues

The developers have also listed several issues that remain under investigation:

  • Some Paras become jealous after kissing their own partner.
  • Certain players cannot create new clothing or furniture colors.
  • Canvases may disappear while paintings are being created or completed.
  • Some external mods and plugins can cause installed mods to become invisible.
  • Community-made content may not be immediately compatible with the latest update and could introduce unexpected issues.

More Updates Are on the Way

While update 0.1.5 focuses primarily on quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes, Paralives Studio has already outlined a much larger roadmap for future content. Planned additions include weather and seasons, pets, vehicles, swimming pools, and several other highly requested features from the community.

For now, version 0.1.5 delivers a solid collection of improvements that make managing saves, customizing Paras, and enjoying everyday gameplay smoother than ever.
