Epic Games dropped the LEGO Fortnite Odyssey v41.00 update on June 5, 2026, and for anyone who builds seriously in this game, it is one of the better patches in recent memory. Roofs snap properly now. Balloon controls are rebindable. Vehicle icons are customizable. Lightsaber handles actually change your stats. That is a lot of practical stuff landing at once.

If you have spent time screaming at corner roof pieces that refuse to go where you want them, or mashing every button on your vehicle because you forgot which thruster does what, this patch is directly aimed at you. Here is a breakdown of every confirmed change, what it means for your builds and gameplay, and a few things Epic flagged as known issues to watch for.

Custom Icons in the Build Menu: Your Vehicle HUD Is Now Readable

Before v41.00, if you had a multi-thruster vehicle with balloons, cannons, and hover bricks all assigned to different buttons, keeping track of what did what was a guessing game. Now you can open the wrench, click any thruster or component, hit Customization, and assign a specific icon to that button slot.

The available icons include balloon up, balloon down, hover bricks, cannons, rockets, left and right thrusters, and number labels. You can mix and match based on how your vehicle is set up.

On top of that, the HUD now shows active buttons as solid and unused ones as transparent. At a glance, you can tell which parts of your build are working and which slots are sitting idle.

Why this matters for multiplayer builds: If friends jump into your world and hop on a vehicle they have never touched before, they can now read the controls directly from the screen instead of asking you or breaking something. For players who share worlds regularly, this alone is a big step forward.

Balloon Button Rebinding Is Live, With a Catch

Buoyant Balloons now support channel rebinding for both the UP and DOWN states using the wrench tool. That means you are no longer locked into default controls for how your balloon vehicle rises and drops, which gives you more flexibility when building complex multi-function vehicles.

The known limitation: Zeppelin balloons and hot air balloons are not fully customizable per channel yet. For now, Epic has defaulted them to channels 5 and 6. Full per-channel customization for those balloon types is confirmed for a future update, but no date has been given.

Lightsaber Handle Materials Now Change Your Stats

This is a smaller but meaningful change for players grinding the Star Wars content in Odyssey. The material you use for your lightsaber handle now affects what you get out of the weapon:

  • Honed Legendary Steel on the handle: +80 durability

  • Gold Bars on the handle: +10 durability plus an extra rune slot

That extra rune slot from Gold Bars is the interesting trade-off. If you are already using the Rune Forge to slot abilities and bonuses onto your weapons, getting a second slot from your handle material opens up more build variety. If you just want your lightsaber to last longer in fights, Honed Legendary Steel keeps things simple.

Tier 4 Kyber Crystals also had their rarity corrected in this patch, so if you were seeing incorrect rarity labels on high-tier crystals before, that is fixed now.

Roof Snapping Got a Full Overhaul

This is the change builders have been waiting for. Epic has reworked how roof pieces, walls, and curved structures snap together, and the results are a real improvement over what the game had before.

Here is what changed:

  • Corner roof pieces now snap automatically into place. You no longer need to fight them into position manually

  • Snap points have been cut down to three options: left, center, and right. Fewer points means less chance of placing a piece in the wrong spot

  • Curved walls, floors, and roofs now align to each other automatically in compatible build sets

  • Curved stairs now snap cleanly inside curved walls, which makes spiral staircases far easier to build

  • Walls can now be snapped to the bottom of floors, giving you a cleaner starting point for outer walls

  • Interior walls have their own category now and snap into exterior walls much more reliably

  • Gables, hip roofs, roof ridges, and roof ridge end pieces all have updated snapping behavior throughout

  • Finishing pieces can now snap onto the bottom of certain roof types for cleaner bottom edges

If you build large bases or detailed structures, the combination of fewer snap points and smarter automatic alignment should cut down the time you spend fixing misaligned pieces significantly.

Bug Fixes: What Got Repaired in Odyssey

Beyond the headline changes, v41.00 addresses a long list of issues that have been affecting Odyssey gameplay:

  • Mos Eisley build sets are no longer blocked and are now completable

  • Bears can no longer get stuck in front of specific structures

  • Villages are now tougher and cannot be destroyed by Titans

  • Golden Sheep will now leave the barn (a fix players have wanted for a while)

  • Shal’s crafting chest can be interacted with after completing certain quests

  • Enemies now drop Chaos Embers correctly when defeated by a follower

  • Oni Tyrants are spawning more often

  • Track quests now display correctly in-game

  • Ice Dragons now spawn after closing Chaos Portals

  • Weather now changes correctly on NINJAGO Island

  • Players can now select bus stations without issue

  • Resolved an issue where players could not interact with a vehicle after it was built

  • Fixed a bug blocking free movement after re-entering fly mode

  • Players can now interact with workstations after teleporting to NINJAGO Island

Important Vehicle Known Issue: Hover Bricks and the Floating Glitch

Epic confirmed a known issue with hover bricks in the v41.00 notes. Sometimes hover bricks get confused and your vehicle may appear to drift slowly upward into the sky. According to Epic, this is a visual-only bug. The fix is simple: walk to where your hovercraft was sitting before it started drifting, hop on it, and the position snaps back to normal.

Also worth noting: exiting a vehicle now requires you to hold the exit button instead of a single press. Epic stated this is a temporary change while they work on fixing underlying input bugs. The plan is to bring it back to a single press in a future update.

The health bar is also being adjusted to stay visible during combat even when you are at full health, which should help in heated fights where you need to track your status at a glance.

Brick Life Bug Fixes in v41.00

Brick Life did not get new content or events in this patch, but a handful of bug fixes did land:

  • Seaworthy Lighthouse lanterns no longer disappear from inventory when placed

  • The Randomize outfit preview in the Locker now matches the actual outfit the character wears

  • The unclaimed lot area outline correctly disappears and reappears when claiming and unclaiming a lot

  • Seahorse Fish are now oriented correctly in the fish catching animation

  • Items placed on counters no longer float above the surface
