GTA 6 Standard vs. Ultimate Edition: The Full Breakdown Before Pre-Orders Close
GTA 6 pre-orders went live on June 25, 2026, and Rockstar put two editions on the table at two very different prices. The Standard Edition is $79.99. The Ultimate Edition is $99.99. That $20 gap covers a lot more than cosmetics.

Physical copies have no disc inside. One edition locks you out of five in-game locations permanently unless you upgrade. And pre-ordering either version before November 20 gets you a bonus pack that nobody is talking about enough. Here is the complete picture.
What Every Pre-Order Gets You (Standard or Ultimate, Physical or Digital)
Anyone who pre-orders GTA 6 before November 20, 2026, gets the Vintage Vice City Pack, regardless of which edition they pick or whether they buy digital or physical.
The pack includes:
’55 Vapid Stanier — a classic sedan with a white and yellow color scheme, stored in the Shorecourt Personal Garage
Shorecourt Personal Garage — a beachfront property near Ocean Beach with a weapon locker and a stash point to fence stolen goods
Jason and Lucia outfits — Jason gets a linen suit in vintage pastel, Lucia gets a red sequin mini dress with curls
Tommy Vercetti weapon pattern — the iconic tropical shirt design from GTA Vice City turned into a gun wrap
That is a vehicle, a fully functional garage, two character outfits, and a weapon skin. All free. All yours just for pre-ordering.
One extra bonus for digital pre-orders only: if you order the digital version, you also get a free one-month GTA+ subscription on top of everything above. Physical buyers do not get this.
The Physical Copy Situation Is Worth Reading Carefully
Rockstar confirmed that the physical edition of GTA 6 contains no disc. Open the box and you will find a download code on a piece of paper. You redeem that code on PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store, then download the game.
The physical box does come with printed cover art and the game case itself. That is the only tangible difference between buying it in a store versus buying it digitally.
Pre-load begins at local midnight on November 12, 2026, one full week before the game releases on November 19. That week of lead time suggests the download size will be large.
If you were hoping to resell or trade in your physical copy down the line, the download code model makes that effectively impossible once the code is redeemed.
Standard Edition ($79.99): What You Actually Get
The Standard Edition is the base game. That is it.
GTA 6 launches as a single-player only experience. There is no GTA Online at launch. Rockstar has confirmed the online mode and a PC version will come at a later date, but no timeline has been announced.
The Standard Edition is $79.99, which is $10 more than the $69.99 price point most AAA games have used since the PS5 and Xbox Series X launch generation.
One thing worth noting: Standard Edition owners can upgrade to the Ultimate Edition at any time after redeeming their code, via the PlayStation or Xbox storefronts. You are not locked out forever if you start with the lower price.
Ultimate Edition ($99.99): Every Exclusive Listed
The Ultimate Edition is $99.99 and adds a large volume of exclusive content layered across the campaign. Rockstar confirmed that Ultimate Edition items are “threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia’s story,” meaning you do not get everything at the start. New items unlock chapter by chapter.
Here is every confirmed item:
“Exclusive” Vehicles
’95 Grotti Cheetah — a Ferrari-inspired mid-90s sports car with a retro-futuristic livery, available in later-stage gameplay
’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy — an off-road monster styled for rough terrain, stored at Paradise Garage in Watson Bay (includes weapon locker and stash box)
Jason’s Safehouse Vehicles — an army-fatigues Dinka motorcycle and a Craft Kayak
Shitzu Squalo — a gradient pink and blue watercraft docked at Washington Beach, with an explosives-laden weapons crate on board
Weapons
Hawk and Little Morgan Revolvers — a matched pair (one for Jason, one for Lucia), both sourced from the Vercetti Estate with palm-tree etched grips, engraved detailing, and a high-performance scope
Personalized weapon variants — custom engravings on Jason’s Gerardi ES9 pistol and Lucia’s Clos K17 pistol
Cosmetics

Ganado Retro Build Mod Kit — exclusive performance and cosmetic mods for Jason’s Vapid Ganado pickup truck
The Five Exclusive Single-Player Locations
This is the most talked about part of the Ultimate Edition. Five locations in the single-player game are locked to Ultimate Edition owners only. Standard Edition players cannot access them.
