Fortnite has rolled out a fresh patch, bringing several gameplay tweaks and hidden content set up for upcoming events. From map adjustments and loot changes to rank balancing and new Power Rangers assets, here’s a complete breakdown of what’s new.

Map Changes and Queen Bug Spawns

The tunnel west of Demon Debris is now overrun by bugs and features a rotating Queen Bug spawn. This queen alternates between the tunnel and Rers Ruin, similar to the queen that switches between Demon Debris and Dystopia City.

Defeating the queen grants a Mythic Sweeper shotgun, and in ranked mode, she drops a shield medallion. These shifting spawns hint at potential future changes, with a high chance that the Hive boss may also rotate locations soon. Expect another nearby area to fall under bug control within the coming weeks.

Loot Nerfs in Bug Areas

Bug-infested zones have seen significant loot adjustments. Orange chests now have a much lower chance of dropping heals and are mostly limited to weapons. Similarly, purple nests now primarily drop ammo rather than full loot pools.

Previously, these areas were considered top-tier landing spots due to quick loot access, but the nerf reduces their overall efficiency. While spots like Demon Debris remain useful, players seeking high-yield loot may need to reconsider early-game strategies.

OXR Rank Progression Tweaks

Ranking up in OXR appears noticeably easier in solos after the update. Players can now hit S tier with fewer eliminations, even without securing the queen kill. This change seems to be mode-specific, as duos and squads might still follow previous ranking thresholds.

Although Epic hasn’t confirmed the adjustment, the shift benefits competitive solo players and could influence ranked strategies going forward.

NPC Removals, Keybind Issues, and Power Rangers Setup

Hired NPCs have temporarily disappeared from the island. It’s unclear if this is intentional or a bug, but none of the usual NPC hire locations are active.

Additionally, some players are experiencing keybind conflicts, especially when using multi-function binds for crouch, slide, and material switching. Epic has acknowledged the issue and recommends resetting binds to default until a fix rolls out.

Finally, this patch quietly sets up assets for next week’s Power Rangers update, which will introduce the Megazord event, a Power Ranger pistol, and a new medallion. While today’s patch focuses on smaller tweaks, bigger content is right around the corner.
