Fortnite Update 34.20: Everything Coming in the New Patch

The Fortnite 34.20 update is just around the corner, and it’s packed with new content. This includes the arrival of a brand-new season of Fortnite OG, a first look at updated OG Battle Pass skins, fresh collaborations, and new mythic items.
Before diving into the full update details, a big shoutout goes to Fortnite for sending early access to the new Clix cosmetics. These include the new Clix skin and the Spark skin, which appears to be a rework of the original Spark to match Clix’s style. This Icon Series bundle should now be available in the item shop.
Fortnite OG Season 3: Lucky Landing, Skins, and Teasers
The new season of Fortnite OG will launch with the 34.20 update. Lucky Landing is set to return to the island, bringing back a fan-favorite location. A teaser for Fortnite OG Season 3 reveals a remixed version of the Dark Voyager skin, possibly fused with the Power Chord skin, both originally from Season 3 back in 2018.
A meteor can also be seen in the teaser image, suggesting a repeat of the classic meteor shower event. This could hint at the return of live events from Fortnite’s earlier days, including the famous rocket launch event. There’s speculation around a reskin of the Elite Agent skin, a popular choice during OG Season 3. Another likely addition could be a new take on The Reaper, Fortnite’s version of John Wick, which was the tier 100 reward during that season.
New Fortnite Festival Artists and Collaborations
Fortnite Festival will also receive a content refresh, likely bringing Sabrina Carpenter to the game. She has several emotes in the item shop. Her popularity makes her a strong pick for next season. Post Malone is also rumored to be featured, which would make sense given his wide fanbase and the recent musical focus of Fortnite events.
Plenty of other collaborations are also expected, including new mythic items and cosmetic rewards. For example, players can pick up the Explode Shockwave Launcher and Midas’ Drum Gun — two powerful new weapons currently dominating the season. These items offer increased mobility and damage, making them fan favorites.
Fortnite Update 34.20: LTM, Free Rewards, and Mortal Kombat
The “Floor is Lava” LTM is confirmed to return in Season 2. With Midas in the Battle Pass, golden lava will engulf the Chapter 6 island. This event will offer free rewards, including a new harvesting tool, and mirrors last year’s version with fresh visuals.
Reboot Rally returns as well, featuring cosmetics reskinned to match the character Hope. Players can earn a glider, back bling, and pickaxe by completing challenges. Additionally, the Duplicate skin from the Invincible series is now unlockable for a limited time through Spring Raid quests.
Another highlight of this update is the continuation of the Mortal Kombat crossover. Sub-Zero is already in the Battle Pass, and now Scorpion joins the roster with his own mythic weapon — the rope dart. This functions similarly to the Hades chain from Chapter 5 Season 2, allowing players to pull enemies closer while delivering fire-based damage. New rewards tied to Mortal Kombat include a contrail named “Mortal Spirit” and potentially even more characters and emotes.
Live Event Teasers and What’s Next
The update also includes teasers for a mini live event, likely connected to the upcoming Fortnite Season 3. Rumors suggest the next theme will be Star Wars-related. Given Fortnite’s history with large-scale live events, expectations are high — even the last “mini” event in Chapter 6 Season 1 felt like a full-scale experience.
Fortnite Update 34.20 looks like one of the biggest yet. It brings back OG content, powerful mythics, and fan-requested crossovers. With new LTMs, Battle Pass skins, free rewards, and massive collaborations, players have plenty to look forward to.
