How Doom Match Works

Forget team plays and focus on your survival instead. Marvel Rivals Doom Match will have all 12 players against each other for an intense free-for-all battle. In this mode, every elimination counts, so make sure to only engage in fights you can win.

All players in the match can choose any hero from their roster to use in Doom Match. This mode also presents a perfect opportunity for them to practice their new playable characters and their skills. Under Doom Match, the pointing system is very simple, where one elimination is equal to one point. 

The first player that reaches 16 points in Doom Match wins the game. However, some matches may end with the winner scoring the top half of players instead of maximum score. Each Doom Match will run for only ten minutes to add thrill to the game.

Map Features and Strategic Locations

Definitely, Marvel Rivals Doom Match promises a new experience to players with the map offering. Players will play in the Sanctum Sanctorum map, which is under the “Empire of Eternal Night” collection. This map has some intriguing elements that will spice up every match, such as:

  • Teleport areas marked by purple rift-like substances that players can interact with to reach different locations.
  • Portals that allow players to fire through them for surprise attacks.
  • Multiple floors within the Sanctum gives players the vantage points for long-range heroes.
  • The usual combat Hotspot is the active northern alleyway near the Sanctum. 
  • Health pickup location due to unavailability of self-healing. 

Now, here’s a tip for players. On the northwest side of the map, a teleport rift that is near a portal leads to Sanctum Sanctorum’s roof. This will be best if you have a long-range combat hero in play.

Which Heroes to Pick

So, how does one win a Marvel Rivals Doom Match? All players have to do is come up with the right hero and proper gameplay strategies. For this mode, it’ll be best for them to use lower-difficulty heroes (one to two-star range). Best choices will be Luna Snow, Iron Man, and Scarlet Witch.

Luna Snow will be a great all-rounder you can use in Doom Match given the map. She can take advantage of the long alleys with her Ice Arts ability. Then, she also has excellent crowd control, which is the Absolute Zero ability. Lastly, her ultimate Fate of Both Worlds grants her near invincibility when low on health or surrounded. 

Meanwhile, if you want to play Duelists, then Iron Man and Scarlet Witch are both great picks. You’ll easily control the map from above with Iron Man’s aerial mobility and ranged attacks. On the other hand, Scarlet Witch can navigate tight corridors and deal high damage with her Projection ability.

However, there are some hero abilities adjustments in this mode, like for Dr. Strange and Invisible Woman. Marvel Rivals Doom Match disables the Pentagram of Farallah of Dr. Strange and Invisible Boundary of Invisible Woman. 

Tips To Win Marvel Rivals Doom Match

Like every other mode, it’ll be best to equip yourself with some strategies besides strong heroes. Here’s some of what you can do, especially when tracking down some of your opponents:

  1. You can utilize map’s portals and teleport areas effectively for both offensive and defensive maneuvers.
  2. Also, keep track of health pickup locations since there’s no self-healing unless it’s part of your hero’s ability set.
  3. Secure chances to third-party ongoing fights and secure eliminations more easily.
  4. You can use the map’s many corridors to stay covered. 
  5. Watch the scoreboard regularly to ensure you’re maintaining a position in the top half of players.
