Clash of Clans Hero Journey Rewards Explained: Free Epic Gear, Ruin Witch, Angry Spell and Every Upgrade in the Update
The Clash of Clans June 2026 update is going live today, June 15, and it brings more free rewards than any single update in recent memory. The headline feature is the Hero Journey, a permanent reward track that converts every hero level you have ever earned into loot, pre-leveled epic equipment, and exclusive skins. On top of that, two new offensive tools, the Ruin Witch and the Angry Spell, are reshaping attack strategies at the highest Town Halls.

(Permanent Track)
• Unlocks at Town Hall 7.
• 1 point awarded per cumulative Hero level up to 480 points.
• Features a max final reward of the Majestic Dragon Duke skin.
Open Immediately: Tap the Hero Hall to initialize. Check if you completed newly unlocked Hero & Equipment Quests to farm free Ore Chests. Rewrites historical progression. Retroactively converts your total profile level footprint into pre-leveled Epic Equipment, Ores, and Ascended skins. The Migration
(First Log-In)
• Pre-leveled Epic Equipment caps at level 15.
• Fallback reward: 50 Starry Ore (future path nodes only).
• 7-day collection window upon log-in.
Spend Ores First: The migration allows a one-time resource overflow cap. Spend your loaded Ores immediately before launching war attacks. Instantly balances the gear economy. Under-leveled or un-purchased Epic Equipment is automatically boosted to match your Town Hall tier.Ruin Witch
(New Dark Troop)
• Unlocks at Dark Barracks Lvl 13 (TH16+).
• Deals zero direct building damage.
• Spawns heavy melee Ruin Knights from rubble.
Never First Deploy: She requires 4s to vacuum rubble and 2s to spawn a knight. Deploy her strictly behind main Golem or Balloon sweeps. A strict follow-up support unit. If dropped on a clean, undamaged zone of the enemy layout, she will stand completely idle.Angry Spell
(New Dark Spell)
• Unlocks at Dark Spell Factory Lvl 8 (TH15+).
• Radius: 6-tile radius circle.
• Max Duration: 17.5 seconds.
Correct Pathing AI: Use this spell to force stray Healers, Heroes, or Balloons away from resource structures to focus the nearest defense. Does not increase base damage modifiers. Its sole, high-value purpose is temporarily rewriting troop target priority layers mid-fight.TH18 Upgrades
(New Defense Caps)
• Monolith Lvl 5: 470k DE / 15-day timer.
• Builder’s Hut Lvl 8: 24M Gold / 13-day timer.
• Walls: 50 extra max pieces (Lvl 19).
Burn Magic Items: Monolith Lvl 5 scales to hit for a massive 15% max HP per tick. Spend your Hammers and Books here first. Upgrading the Monolith or Builder’s Hut completely deletes existing supercharge levels, freezing further supercharge paths on them.Supercharges
(Base Balancing)
Available for X-Bow and Scattershot:
• Lvl 1: Extra Damage output.
• Lvl 2: Increased structure Hit Points.
Horizontal Upgrading: Upgrade all active X-Bows and Scattershots to Level 1 first to counter the update’s raw offensive power spikes. Delivers a cheap, quick defensive counter-weight without locking up main builders for full multi-week upgrade blocks.Hero Levels
(TH18 Threshold)
• Barbarian King: Levels 106–110 (+5)
• Archer Queen: Levels 106–110 (+5)
• Grand Warden: Levels 81–85 (+5)
Manage DE Storage: High-level upgrades cost nearly 95% of a maxed Dark Elixir reserve. Stagger your Hero upgrade cycles. Expands the Hero Journey point ceiling by 15 points total. Note that the Royal Champion and Minion Prince receive no new caps.Quality of Life
(Battle Tuning)
• 4x Fast Forward: Appears after 120s.
• Capital Treasury: Converts excess gold.
• Anti-leech rules lock Raid Weekend joins.
Speed Up Cleanup: Use the 4x fast-forward button to bypass the tedious wait while low-DPS stray troops clean up distant corner buildings. Maxed clans can dump overflow Capital Gold into the Treasury to earn profile Capital Reputation before future map updates arrive.Whether you are a maxed TH18 chasing the final hero skins or a returning player who quit two years ago, this update has something specific for you. The migration process that triggers when you first log in today is time-sensitive, so read through the rewards section before you open the game.
The Hero Journey: Every Hero Level Now Pays You Back
The Hero Journey unlocks at Town Hall 7 and lives inside the Hero Hall. The concept is simple: every single hero level across all your heroes counts as one point on the track. Unlock a hero at level 1, that is one point. Push your Barbarian King from level 90 to 91, that is another point. It does not matter which hero or which level, they all count equally.
The track runs up to 480 total points with the 15 new hero levels added in this update. Progress along it and you unlock six categories of rewards:
Pre-leveled Epic Equipment — granted at the level Supercell expects you to be at for your Town Hall, capped at level 15
Exclusive Majestic Hero Skins — only available through the Hero Journey, not the shop
Elixir and Dark Elixir — the same resources you need to keep upgrading heroes
Magic Items and Snacks — Hero Potions, Books of Heroes, Pet Potions, Runes of Elixir, Runes of Dark Elixir, and Mighty Morsels
Shiny, Glowy, and Starry Ore scattered across the track
Hero and Equipment Quests that unlock Ore Chests when completed
The Majestic Dragon Duke is the final reward at the end of the track. For players who are already maxed before today’s update, the new hero levels give you the last stretch of the journey to work through.
What Happens the First Time You Log In Today
When you open the game today, the migration process runs automatically. Here is exactly what to expect:
June 2026 Sneak Peek 2: New Angry Spell

Loot and ore you would have earned from the track based on your current hero levels will drop into your storage. If the amount pushes you over your maximum storage cap, it overflows for this one time only. This is a one-time exception, not a permanent mechanic. Once you are above cap, you stop earning ore from raids and war attacks until you spend it back below the limit, so use your ore before you start attacking.
Epic equipment is handled in two ways. If you do not own an epic, you get it pre-leveled at the appropriate tier for your Town Hall. If you own an epic but it is below the level Supercell expects for your progress, it gets automatically leveled up when you log in.
The equipment briefcase node gives you an epic you are missing. If you own every epic already, the fallback is 50 Starry Ore. Note that this fallback only applies when you hit that node through natural future progression, not during the one-time migration.
Quests are not part of the migration. Any completed quest rewards from the track are distributed automatically, but the quest system itself is designed for players progressing forward from this update. Returning and new players who are flagged as behind will receive larger ore drops to speed up their catch-up.
You have a 7-day window to collect loot-based migration rewards after logging in. Do not sit on that.
New Troop: What the Ruin Witch Actually Does
The Ruin Witch is a Dark Elixir troop that unlocks at Dark Barracks Level 13, available from Town Hall 16. She launches at four levels and gets more levels at TH18.
The core mechanic is the twist: she does not attack a single building or troop. She walks toward destroyed buildings, spends 4 seconds vacuuming up the rubble, then spawns Ruin Knights 2 seconds later from that debris. The Ruin Knights are beefy melee fighters built from the wreckage your other troops already created.
What this means in practice: she is a follow-up troop. You need your main damage dealers, Giants, Golems, or Balloons, clearing buildings first. The Ruin Witch works behind that wave, converting cleared buildings into a second army. She is useless if she reaches a live section of the base with no rubble, so composition and deploy order matter a lot.
Full stat breakdowns and gameplay footage from Sneak Peek 2 went live on June 14.
New Spell: The Angry Spell Turns Any Troop Into a Defense Killer
The Angry Spell is a new Dark Elixir spell that unlocks at Dark Spell Factory Level 8 (Town Hall 15). It affects a 6-tile radius and causes every troop inside, ground or air, to drop their normal targeting and attack the nearest defense for up to 17.5 seconds at max level. Troops that walk into the area after the spell is cast also get affected.
June 2026 Sneak Peek 2: Ruin Witch
byu/ClashDotNinja inClashOfClans
Siege Machines are the only exception. Every other troop and hero responds to it.
The spell shares its core mechanic with the Angry Jelly, but applies it to your full army rather than just heroes. The practical use case is obvious for high-level players: if you have a Healer stack or Balloons spiraling away from defenses, one Angry Spell snaps them back into focus. It is also a strong counter to bases that funnel your troops into resource buildings.
The duration increases with level. The damage output of the affected troops does not change, only their targeting does.
New Building Levels and What to Upgrade First
These new levels are for Town Hall 18 unless noted:
Monolith to Level 5
Cost: 470,000 Dark Elixir. Upgrade time: 15 days.
The percentage damage rises to 15% of the target troop’s max HP per hit, up from the previous level. Base damage goes up by 16 DPS. This is the single highest-impact defensive upgrade in the update. Spend your magic items here after any offense buildings.
Both the Monolith and the Builder’s Hut will lose their existing supercharge levels when upgraded to their new max. You cannot supercharge them afterward.
Builder’s Hut to Level 8
Cost: 24 million Gold (not including Gold Pass perks). Upgrade time: 13 days.
Gains hit points, DPS, and 5 extra repair per second. Solid but secondary to the Monolith.
Dark Barracks Level 13 unlocks the Ruin Witch.
Dark Spell Factory Level 8 unlocks the Angry Spell.
Walls: 50 more pieces added at max level. All TH18 walls now have the Level 19 upgrade available.
Two Buildings Are Getting New Supercharge Levels
The X-Bow (Expo) and the Scattershot are the two buildings receiving supercharge upgrades this update.
X-Bow Supercharge:
Level 1: Extra damage. Cost 9 million Gold, 5.5 days.
Level 2: Increased hit points. Lower cost, longer upgrade time.
Scattershot Supercharge:
Level 1: Extra damage.
Level 2: Increased hit points.
The recommended order: upgrade every X-Bow and Scattershot to Supercharge Level 1 first across your whole base, then go back through and push everything to Level 2. Level 1 gives the damage boost, which directly counters increased offensive power from the update.
New Hero Levels at Town Hall 18
Three heroes get extra levels with this update:
Barbarian King: +5 levels
Archer Queen: +5 levels
Grand Warden: Level 80 to 85 (+5 levels)
The Royal Champion and Minion Prince do not receive new levels here. That brings new hero levels per Town Hall 18 player to 15 total from this single update, which is higher than the standard 5-per-TH cycle.
Quality-of-Life Changes Worth Knowing
Fast Forward in Live Battles
After 120 seconds of an attack have passed, a fast-forward button appears on screen. You can speed battles up to 4x. This works across the Home Village, Builder Base, and Clan Capital. Toggle it off any time. The main use case is for mopping up final buildings after you have deployed your full army and are waiting on stray troops to finish off the last few percent.
Clan Capital Treasury
Clans that have maxed out their Clan Capital no longer lose all their Capital Gold every Raid Weekend. A new Treasury lets your clan contribute excess gold, which earns players Capital Reputation on their profile. The Treasury resets when new Clan Capital content arrives in a future update.
Raid Weekend Access Fix
A new rule stops mid-raid joiners from leeching. Players can only join an active Raid Weekend if they attacked already, hold Elder rank or above, joined the clan before the weekend started, or are in an open clan.
Bonus CWL Season and the Violet Halime Skin
A second Clan War League season starts today, June 15. To tie in with the FIFA World Cup, there is a limited-time 11 vs. 11 Clan War League format running alongside the regular CWL. The Violet Halime Grand Warden skin will be available in the CWL shop. Hold your medals until the exact cost is confirmed before spending them.
Upgrade Priority: How to Spend Your Resources Today
Log in immediately and collect your migration rewards before the 7-day timer ticks down. Then follow this order:
Unlock the Angry Spell and Ruin Witch by upgrading the Dark Spell Factory and Dark Barracks first if you are TH15 or TH16+.
Start the Monolith Level 5 upgrade. Use magic items on this if you have them.
Push all Supercharges to Level 1 across every eligible building before any go to Level 2.
Queue the Builder’s Hut Level 8 for the stats bump.
Spend your migration ore before attacking to stay under the capacity cap.
