Black Ops Zombies: Moon Hacker Device Locations and Every Hack Explained
The Hacker Device is one of the most useful equipment items in Moon for Black Ops Zombies. Available in both Black Ops and Black Ops 3 Zombies, it replaces your P.E.S. helmet while equipped, meaning you can’t survive in areas without oxygen. In exchange, it unlocks a wide range of unique interactions, from modifying the Mystery Box to changing power-ups and even sharing points with teammates.
Here’s where to find the Hacker and everything it can do.
Where to Find the Hacker Device
The Hacker only spawns inside the laboratory section of Moon. It always appears next to a sheet of yellow paper, making it easier to identify.
Only one player can carry the Hacker at a time, so if someone on your team has already picked it up, it won’t be available until they swap it out.
Check these six possible spawn locations:
- Opposite Double Tap, to the left of the laboratory entrance.
- Beside the staircase leading to the second floor.
- On a shelf immediately to the right after reaching the second floor.
- On a shelf next to the stairs leading to the third floor.
- Behind a chair to the right of Deadshot Daiquiri on the third floor.
- On a shelf to the left of the doors leading into the Biodome.
Every Hacker Device Function
The Hacker can interact with numerous objects throughout the map, often changing how they work or providing unique benefits.
Hack Target Effect Excavators Disable active excavators before they destroy Tunnel 6, Tunnel 11, or the Biodome. Mystery Box Spend 600 points to reroll the weapon currently in the box. Mystery Box (after reroll) Refund 950 points and make the weapon available for any player to claim. Power-Ups Spend 5,000 points to convert the power-up into a Max Ammo. Wall Weapons Reduce the purchase price and lower the cost of buying Pack-a-Punch ammunition. Perk Machines Remove your perk and refund the points spent on it. Teammates Transfer 500 points to another player. Pack-a-Punch Machine Lock yourself inside the Pack-a-Punch cage for 30 seconds. Zombie Barriers Instantly rebuild every board and earn 100 points. Locked Doors Open unopened doors for 200 fewer points than normal. When Should You Use the Hacker?
The Hacker shines during long survival games and Easter Egg attempts.
Preventing excavators from damaging key areas can save your team from lengthy repairs, while discounted wall weapons and ammunition help conserve points in higher rounds. The ability to convert unwanted power-ups into Max Ammo is especially valuable when resources start running low.
Although carrying the Hacker means giving up your P.E.S. helmet, switching between the two at the right time can give your team a significant advantage throughout a match on Moon.
